It looks like the 1/35 scale big railway gun from Dragon Models will be making a comeback to a retailer near you soon.
According to Dragon Models USA the German Leopold Railway Gun is being re-issued by Dragon Models. The large very large 1/35 scale kit will definitely require space on your shelf, but will build an impressive model to show off to your friends. The completed model is over 35” long and the kit contains a 43” length of railway track section to display it.

6200 – German Railway Gun 28cm K5(E) “Leopold”

According to the Dragon Models USA this kit should be available in June 2013.

Trumpeters rendition is far better...

I did Trumpeters version I think about 5 years ago, cool build and the wooden slats are complete which they were not on the Dragon kit. But I fell into the trap of painting this damned beast dark yellow with red brown stripes and adding the "leopold" decals, which is totaly inaccurate, because the Leo was in Normandy in german grey and not as shown in Aberdeen Proving ground in the said colours. So maybe I´ll do it again, this time in grey. Paul

I think that you would be better off spending your hard earned money on the Trumpeter vershion. The Trumpeter vershion is much more detailed and the fit is pretty good. I built both of them a couple of years agoe. I gave the Dragon one to my little nephew to play with. If anyone is interested , Archer Transfers had a real nice markings set out.

Then will it come down to cost then? Which one cost the least? ~ Jeff

I had both kits when they came out and I choose the Dragon first. It built into a nice kit with out any issues. I sold the Trumpeter kit a couple of years ago I will say that Trumpeter was more detailed in the trucks. The Dragon is still in my model cabinet and it looks fine. Jim

Availability will also no doubt be an issue. DragonUSA is showing a pre-order price on this kit of $150 as a reference point.
