After deciding that their old website was too cluttered, Tamiya USA has rolled out a newer one that has some useful bells & whistles.

In an email, Tamiya USA's Marketing Manager, Fred Medel, declared that the company's old website "had became too cluttered with visual noise and basic design miscues. It made it hard to focus on the product. The appeal of Tamiya’s products are the
details."

According to Medel, the new website’s theme is, "A picture is worth 1,000 words," and although the site is now live, he says Tamiya is continuously correcting
launch issues, implementing new features and listening to feedback from customers.

Tamiya’s new website features a new "compare" feature for radio control products, plastic kits and Mini 4WD
products that lets you evaluate features side-by-side. Tamiya is also tweaking the back end of the website to improve how it categorizes its vast product line.

"The new site is a step forward," Medel says, "but there is still a lot of work to do."

After a spell of thinking Tamiya just didn't care about the Internet, this new site helps dispel that impression.

Bill, Great heads up. I remember the old site and it was never to bad in all honesty. Most importantly they have retained this part -- I really recommend having a read list of tips and sbs

It wasn't that the old site was bad, it was just often useless and irrelevant. This new one seems up-to-date and has features that will help modelers find out what they want to know.

I have to agree with you there Bill, I rarely visited their website- it just wasn't very good or useful- their new one is a big improvement.

Are they NUTS? I agree the website is nice...they must have raised the prices 25% on every item to pay for it. I don't see how they can get away with such high prices in the USA.
