At Scale Model World in Telford, AFV Club showed off another great offering for British AFV fans with an Early Matador.
AFV Club has another great looking British AFV offering coming our way with an Early Matador. From the sprues this looks like it may be on it way soon and another must have.

AF35236 – AEC Matador, British Expeditionary Force 1940

I wish manufacturers like AFV club would ditch the vinyl tyres but still great news and something many modellers have been wanting for years.

Super...!

If it's a BEF Matador, it's more likely to be hauling the earlier 4.5" gun - the 5.5" didn't enter service until the El Alamein battles of 1942.

great news but it's kinda weird. The box shows a vehicle without an air sentry hatch but the only cab roof I can see on the sprues DOES have the hatch......

The more complete sprue shots posted on Missing-Lynx showed both the early cab as seen on the box and the later cab seen on the sprues here.

I assume this version would work in a 1942 time frame or not?

My mistake, the Resicast kit is for the 6" 26 cwt howitzer which most definitely went to France in 1940. And this Matador would then be the perfect item.
