An announcement from Takom has another great looking and must have World War 1 tank coming soon.
Takom has announced yet another great addition to World War 1 armor with the Mk.IV Tadpole with rear mortar. The kit is stated to include photo-etched and decal for two vehicles. Also included will be workable track and accurately reproduced rear mortar.

2015 – WW1 Heavy Tank w/Rear Mortar Mark.IV Male Tadpole

Armorama would like to thank Takom for the update.

Probably not very effective and possibly a bit dangerous at times too.

Sacrilage man! We need a MkI and V yes but a Tadpole had to happen. It might never have been deployed but that doesn't matter as it's still a part of WW1 tank history.

If you have a MK IV you can add only some parts to obtain a Tadpole and it seems people love this tank. A very easy way to make some money for Takom. Following this way and looking how Takom splits sponson parts, the next easy version to obtain may be a Supply Tank. It needs new closed sponsons (only three parts to modify on each sponson), an hatch over driver cab (two parts, may be three) and some decals. Mk I and V were very different from Mk IV. I agree about the prototype limited appeal BUT this makes a very impressive model. I built the Emhar Tadpole recently and it got more attention on display (in a local hobby shops) than other models, just so unique and big! Not sure I'd buy another one though... Cheers, Christophe

Looking forward to the Tadpole but I wonder if we'll see any more WW1 tanks before the Centenary year's out? The Hobbyboss Schneider should be out soon but obviously there's the Whippet, A7V and MkVIII Liberty tank too that could be done.
