In one of these excellent moments which make the life of a News Editor just a liitle easier, Dragon Models have just been kind enough to send us the first images of the NEXT figure set in 1/35th scale...
This new set marks a slight departure from the usual release, being based on a series of color plates by DML's designer Ron Volstad. The original source came from Ron's illustrations from the Concord book on Stalingrad, Ron has now taken his color plates and turned them into a New set of figures. There is very little more to add, the images say it all...

Armorama is (once again) indebted to Dragon Models for providing these ADVANCE images...

Enjoy!

I've already thought of about 10 great ideas for dioramas that involve the pair on the left side of the box. I tend to shy away from dioramas, but this will also give me a great excuse to build some Soviet armour, something that I've never really been too interested in (just too many other kits out there to build.)

The name "Stalingrad Inferno" refers to the title of a book about the Battle of Stalingrad illustrated by written by Gordon Rottman & Ronald Volstad (who also illustrated the book.) Ron Volstad is an excellent illustrator, and he's Canadian to boot! Here is a link about the book: http://www.dragonmodelsusa.com/dmlusa/prodd.asp?pid=CON6509

One of the additionally attractive aspects of this set, is going to be the price. It's going to retail at an awful lot less than the usual set . I haven't been given a RRP for it (logically, as its going to vary from country to country) although, be prepared for a pleasant surprise. Thanks, Anders, - as usual a constructive and helpful suggestion - others, please take note... There you go, Karl, put the family fortune where your mouth is..Jim

A survey would be interesting though. There are 20,00 users on here, so a survey should have some representative validity. And it might give us something concrete to put this arguement to rest. It might well turn out that Karl and I are the only ones to vote for more Allied stuff from Dragon - then we'd have to shut up wouldn't we? :-) Sean

Did any others notice in Jim's original post the following line ? I think this little fact may have got a little overlooked in the usual discussion regarding Allied V's Axis debate LOL. So just a thankyou and keep up the good work guys Oooops BTW great figures Ian

Its always good to hear about new releases, esp from Dragon. Maybe they'll release some US figs when Medal of Honor Airborne and Brothers In Arms come out... just a thought! Myabe some German fatalities too? When I got my first models I asked my mate about the large amount of German figs compared to Allied, and he simply said: "Thats what they want in Japan etc. It makes Dragon money 'cos theres a huge demand for it." (Bigger than my demand for a US Half-track!!?) :-) But thanks for the news anyway. I also think a poll would be good, just for interest. Keep the new coming...! Harry

What connection does this have with the featured set?...JIm

I think what Harry means is that new MoH and BiA games will signal the start of a mini-revival for WWII Allied subjects.
