Echelon Fine Details has just released four new sets covering eras from WWII to present day conflicts. These are all 1/35 offerings and the quality, as always, is high on the whole range.
First up is the new M4 Sherman offering D356189
This set represents the Easy Eight style Sherman as seen in the movie “Fury”, complete with all the appropriate 2AD marking for that particular tank.
The next sets are for the BTR 80 and BMP-1P as seen in the Caucasus conflicts and the Chechen Wars respectively.
BTR-80 D356191:
Second part of the generic markings that can be used across a variety of vehicles fielded by Ministerstvo Vnutrennikh Del (MVD - Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Federation) troops, during their battles in Chechnya. Also included are useful miscellaneous markings and cryllic names ("Young Snake", "Vagabond", "Irina") on special forces BTR-80s in the same theater of operation.
and BMP-1P D356190:
Options for Six BMP-1Ps belonging to the 101st Battalion. Three of which had painted slogans on the unditching beams at the back of the vehicle. One of vehicle (without a tactical number, often found on simple online search) had the battalion flag ("101 Battalion" in cyrillic) still in soviet era colours, hung on the antenna.
As well as Soviet/Russian uniform insignia/patches P353007:
Colourful patches representing different branches of the Russian military. Russian marines, VDV, Motor Rifles, Tank Troops (e.g. seen on T-72 commander). Some worn in battle fronts like Chechnya War for instance.
These sets are now ready all for order:
Several OOP sets are now pack in print: D356011, D356104, D356112 and D356140.
The first two are IDF centric offerings:
D356011 IDF Markings (Part1) Digital Numerics Focused on the "digital" numerics often found on late war Magachs and reactive-armored Sho'ts. This is one of the "styles" faithfully captured in 1/35.
D356140: Generic IDF Registration Plates & Numbers There are a variety of IDF registration number styles in existence. This set covers the styling common on Merkava 1 through 4. Believe it or not the styling hasn't changed all these years. They are also found on other AFVs like Magach, M113s, etc (please check references if these are applicable for each of your particular builds).
Each digit is carefully captured and replicated down to the smallest detail. A must-have set if you want a consistent appearance of registration numbers across all the Merkava builds.
Installation: superglue the photo-etched numbers on you want on the plates before cutting them off and applying onto the model. After base coating the model, either hand paint the registration plates and numbers with black and white respectively (if you want a roughly applied look) or use the black and white decals supplied for a much neater look. Both scenario exists in reality.
The next two re-issues are
D356112 Field Fabricated Armor Plating Markings A starter set that covers all the known varieties of such markings. Great for all sorts of field mods for all sorts of vehicles
And
D356104 Thirst Quenchers - 2 Gallon Can Markings Squeezing in as many variations of the marking as possible so that the 2 Gallon cans will never look plain, and they were never always plain to begin with! Comes in two useful colours
“More sets are in the work. Working hard to provide more marking options. Please stay tuned!”
