Takom have released an image of the box art for their T14 Armata. This one is causing some controversial comments before it is even released.
The box art provides some information on this model which is causing some negative comments already. Takom have said it will have three sets of markings, this is the statement that is causing issues as I only know of one occasion it has been on display and I cannot recall any markings. On the plus side the tracks are supplied as individual links and there is of course photo etched and clear parts.

Hisham makes a perfect point. All of us go on rants and tears because a kit is too much this or not enough that, and all along the manufacturers(some of them) are reading this and taking notes. So in the end all our griping has a benefit to the community in general. Does anyone believe there will be the "perfect" model, with no blemishes, dead-on scale, accurate to the T, and priced so that NOBODY ladyes...? Hmmmm...I doubt it. But as I've said many times to people that diss models because of some puny insignificant detail was left out...IT'S A MODEL...! A REPRESENTATION of the real life thing. It's like ejector pin marks. If some bellyaching know it all modeler can figure out better way to get the kits outa their molds, he wouldn't be online whining about it...he'd be rich...!!!

The first production attempt at a crewless turret tank. I'd of thought tankers would jump at this kit (an maybe they will). Anyone who likes to model the progression of tank designs -from the Mk 1's of WWI, the first turreted Renaults, the sloped armored T-34's to the composite armoring of today's MBTs - the T-14 at least marks and evolutionary step (even if it turns out not make it to full production) in tank design that will probably catch on world wide for most armor modelers. Particularly if they have a preference in modern designs.

Actually Jordanian Challengers use Falcon crewless turret. And it is also quite angled.

A pair of new images are here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234958911-russian-modern-armour-images/page-5#entry2087879 including what seems a new low contrast camouflage (or a joke of shadows).

Thanks for pointing that out, Dimitar. I had no idea they had these: At a 120mm, that main gun's pretty potent.

Maybe this kit doesn't really attract me because of the tanks concept and design, just doesn't convince me .... yet. As a former tanker the ability to "stick your head out" of the turret and sense the situation yourself/crew is invaluable especially in combat ... that is why the similar concept of the recently introduced German PUMA IFV might show the "limits" of having to completely rely on sensors, cameras and all other the electronic gadgets including their logistical and networking support. That said I can see myself going for Russia's new T-15 IFV if a kit were available and I shall not complain about any manufacturer picking up on this/or similar subject so fast. And I do believe many who will tackle this kit will enjoy it ... what more can you wish for ? Cheers Christopher
