T-64BM2 in Braille Scale

After announcing the T-64BM in 1/72 scale, Modelcollect shared photos of an upgraded variant of the same vehicle, the T-64BM2, in the works.

The T-64BM is the Ukrainian modernized variant of the ageing T-64. The upgrades focused on improving the tank's firepower, mobility and protection.

We don't have any additional info on the Modelcollect's kit, just the photos revelaed on the company's Facebook page.

The BM2 is actually the "less-upgraded" one of the two, with the BM Bulat having new sights (note lack of searchlight) etc.

Olaf, you are right... Not knowing the details, I assumed the designation 2 refers to the more-advanced version. As you said, that is not correct. Here's a quote from military-today website: The T-64BM Bulat is a Ukrainian upgrade of the ageing Soviet T-64B main battle tank. Initially two upgrade variants were proposed - the T-64BM (also referred as the T-64U) and the T-64BM2. The T-64BM2 is fitted with new automatic loader, however it has inferior fire control system. Eventually the more advanced T-64BM upgrade was selected. First vehicles were upgraded and delivered to Ukrainian Army units in 2005. In 2014 this MBT saw action during ongoing military conflict in Ukraine. Mario
