New paper panzer conversion from Customscale, a huge turret with a Flak41 for the E-50.
The E-50 was a project for a medium tank replacing the Tiger I and Panther.

This is a variant carrying the mighty 8.8cm Flak41 inside a large turret.

The conversion is intended for Trumpeter's 1/35 kit of the E-50

Yawn...another paper panzer, and while more interesting than the other absurdities seen sometimes, still meaningless. Oh well, if you must consider July 1945 then what the heck...

I know it's a paper panzer so it never existed, but would it have been even possible for the tank to mount such a huge turret? (Centre of gravity issues and all that) and why mount the Flak 41 gun the recoil would be too much wouldn't it? Wouldn't have made more sense to have a smaller turret and put the gun from a Tiger 1 or Tiger 2.

The 8.8 flak 41 has just 1 caliber length longer barrel, and 30mm or so longer cartridge, the recoil was similar to the Tiger 2 gun probably.

I agree, besides the turret, while large and ackward-looking, was probably only two or three centimeters thick with perhaps a thicker frontal area. Therefore concerns about center of gravity issues and being top-heavy probably were considered in the design phase. It was, after all, intended as a Flak unit and not a tank destroyer.
