And another announcement from Panda, an M109A7 Paladin self propelled Howitzer.
The A7 variant uses the same gun of the A6 but adds a new automated loader, thus increasing the rate of fire. Apart form that, it has a new chassis, fire direction systems and other improvements.

With all new moulds, this model is expected for this year.

Just checked pics of the first operational M109A7 in Ft. Sill. No CROWS attached. Instead there is a collar below the commanders cupola to fit transparent armor shields. Note that the CAD images show a different model that has little to do with the operational track.

I'll be at Ft. Sill next weekend, although I already photographed several at Ft. Hood last March. Interested to see if there are any changes...

Since I am not sure if we will ever see the Paladin from Panda, I am tempted to scratchbuild the track, using Kinetic M3 A3 suspension and tracks with AFV Club turret. So every picture will be helpful.

There's an old thread on here showing how I did one by splicing together two MLRS hulls.

So If you need pictures of the A7, I can help. I just left Command of B/1-5 FA we did the operational test for the A7 this spring, fielded the gun and took it to NTC, II have a ton of pictures of the vehicle and would be happy to answer questions on it. Let me know! -Joe

Post the pics here. I am curious as to how the fielded version differs from the prototype. Hopefully the kit will be of the fielded version as well.

One major issue for anyone that models this in the future, the box art shows the gun traversed and ready to shoot with the midsection of the drivers hatch up. you can't actually do that just like the Brad, if you leave the hatch up or raised for the mid section and then traverse the turret you will clip off the drivers hatch and possibly decapitate the driver.
