Trumpeter releases its latest kit on the subject, this time featuring the US version.
The M270A1 is an upgraded version of the M270 MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System). The enhancements include cab and hull modifications to improve occupant survivability, and suspension modifications to accommodate the vehicle’s increased weight. The latest variant of the M270A1 uses a new Improved Armor Cab (IAC) to increase protection of the crew and the addition of mine protective seating.
M270/A1 Multiple Launch Rocket System – US (01049). Containing over 970 parts, the kit features a detailed multi-directional slide-molded cab, and lower hull, individual tracks links, as well as photo-etched details. When built, the model stands 200.5mm long and 89.5mm wide.
