ICM Holding this month has finally released its kit on the first Sd.Kfz. 251 variant.
Designed by Hanomag of Germany, the Sd.Kfz. 251 (Sonderkraftfahrzeug 251) half-track was a WWII-era armored fighting vehicle based on the unarmored Sd.Kfz. 11. Developed to transport Panzergrenadiers into battle, Sd.Kfz. 251s were the most widely produced half-tracks, with more than 15,000 units produced by various manufacturers.
The Ausf.A appeared in mid-1939, and was first allocated to the Panzergrenadiers of the 1st Panzer Division, seeing action at the outbreak of the Polish campaign. It is estimated that 350 units were produced from 1939 up to middle of 1940.
ICM Holding’s Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.A (35101) boasts of 100% new molds that builds a model featuring chassis, engine, and interior details. A decal sheet for 4 finishing options completes the offering.
