Trumpeter is working on a P40 Long range radar.
The P-40 (1S12 ) was the first high-mobility radar to enter into service with the then new tactical anti-aircraft forces of the Soviet armed forces. It used the AT-T artillery tractor and mounted a 3-D UHF radar with a characteristic truncated parabolic antenna.

I learned the lesson a few years before. I bought all the Legend Merkava 4 full resin kit, Merkava 3 conversion and Magach conversions. Now there are plastic kits of these subjects by Academy and Meng. Last 2 years, Trumpeter and Hobby Boss have released kits that I thought would never see the light of day in plastic. Unless you build the resin kit right away, it is better to just wait for the plastic kit.

Yes. But. If the styrene kit is never released you will regret not buying that resin kit which is now completely impossible to find anywhere ... / Robin

Gents, I'm very interested in this one too. Actually I got so attracted to it when the resin version first come out by Panzershop many years ago. Sadly the PE radar bit really puts me off, I know that with my limited PE building skill I just would NOT stand a chance to do the radar right. Now Trumpeter is gonna give it to us in plastic, I'd be so interested to see how Trumpeter would address the radar.... a plastic frame work with PE mesh, I hope? Looking forward to seeing it in flesh. Bill

Any news on a delivery date for the p-40?

I really hope the radar is done in plastic and not p/e. I'd hate to solder or glue that many thin strips together.

I don't like the thought of dealing with that antenna PE any more than the next guy but even with todays molding technology I don't see how it could be properly done any other way than by using that fiddly etch.
