The kit was announced last August, however no specific release date from Tamiya has been gathered as yet. Here are additional information and photos sourced from Tamiya USA, TamiyaBlog, and Hobby Search.
Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) Ausf. E/F (35369). Kit highlights:

  • turret front left sight moves in conjunction with the 3.7cm gun
  • realistic recreation of the suspension with large road wheels and upper return rollers
  • link-and-length tracks give natural recreation of the upper run ‘sag’
  • comes with a figure recreating a commander figure
  • photo-etch grill part included
  • includes two marking options for vehicles with units on the Eastern Front in 1941

I pre-ordered one from HLJ. It has a November delivery date. It was only about $23.00 + shipping. I'm looking forward to getting it.

And the sprue pictures indicate this is an all new kit, though it is the same variant as the recently retooled Italeri kit. Looks a lot better too. And I see a slide molded gun barrel too.

I believe some parts are from previous releases, such as the roadwheels, but most is new tooling. See Brett Green's review here for more info http://www.missing-lynx.com/reviews/german/tamiya35369reviewbg_1.html Alan

Curious to see where the markings for this will be. Rommel's "Ghost Division" 7th Pz. were equipped with 38(t)s, but the Hobbbyboss/Tristar kit covers the early war, and Dragon has a similar Ausfuehrung. But then, this is Tamiya and it will sell.

Very happy with this release. Seems like a less daunting build than the Tristar/Hobbyboss kit. The Dragon kit doesn't feature the kink halfway down the fender. The Tamiya kit is just missing the covers for the idler tension devices. (Some vehicles didn't have these.) 20 PD, Russia. Covers. 7 PD, France. No covers.
