Editions du Barbotin is a French publisher who have produced a series of excellent monographs on early-war French vehicles within their 'Trackstory' series. Now, the publisher has announced the eighth in the series.
With some manufacturers (most notably Bronco) realizing that French Armor is a commercially- viable subject for 1/35th scale kits, inevitably, the need arises for documentation on these interesting vehicles.
The Trackstory series of books concentrates exclusively on the early-war, French AFVs. The latest book in the series is:
Trackstory n° 8 - Renault D1 This, 64 page book, contains 12 pages of color profiles and 90 (b+w) photos - 70% of which are previously unpublished. The nine chapters in the book cover (amongst other areas) the initial development, details of the communications equipment, the pre-war period, it's use in 1940, the deployment of the D1 in 1942 to Tunisia, Camouflage and Unit Markings and a bibliography. The book is Completely bi-lingual (French/English) and will be published on the 12th of February.
