MENG posted a press release covering their latest model kit announcement.
The Jagdpanther Ausf. G2 tank destroyer, which entered military service in November 1944, was the last Jagdpanther variant that entered combats. It used the chassis and engine deck of the Panther Ausf. G tank. Like the Panther Ausf. G tank, it was fitted with a heating system for the crew. Like earlier Jagdpanther tank destroyers, it had superior firepower and strong armor. In the meanwhile, the Jagdpanther Ausf. G2 had some changes that reduced the labor and time consumed in production to a certain extent. According to their experience from operations, the German army added a general crane base on the top of the Jagdpanther Ausf. G2. When it’s needed, they could install a general crane to lift ammunition and other heavy equipment, or to replace or repair the engine. Thanks to these changes, the Jagdpanther Ausf. G2 became more adapted to the needs of battlefields.
This TS-047 German Tank Destroyer Sd.Kfz.173 Jagdpanther Ausf. G2 model kit is the latest MENG Panther series product. The finished model will be 289.7mm long and 97mm wide. This kit includes a jib crane for lifting heavy things and the engine, Fine PE parts, metal cables and PE side skirts. Surface details incl. weld beads, cast texture, cutting marks and hot rolling texture are outstandingly reproduced. The suspension system can be upgraded with the SPS-049 German Medium Tank Sd.Kfz.171 Panther Late Production Tracks & Movable Running Gear Parts (sold separately). This kit is a realistic replica of the last Jagdpanther heavy tank destroyer variant. It’s a must-have collection.
