Tristar Models have announced the release of a set of 1/35 WW II British Paratroopers with Welbikes.
The kit 35042 1/35 WW II British Paratroopers with Welbikes includes 2 detailed WWII British paratrooper figures, 2 Welbikes and 2 special paradrop CLE containers. The first figure is lifting the Welbike out from the CLE container. The second figure can be assembled riding or pushing the scooter.

The Welbike comes with photo etched parts such as the wire wheel spokes and drive chains to enhance detail. The bikes can be assembled folded or erected and ready for riding. The folded bike fits into the CLE Drop Container which has accurate detail inside and out and so can be modelled open or closed. Stencil decals for the Welbike and its container are included.

The Paras come with Enfield Mk1 no 4 rifles with photo etched rifle slings and photo etched helmet camouflage nets. The kit includes decals for British and Polish Independent Brigade markings.

It was rumoured (not confirmed) Tristar has stopped operations (or close to liquidation). Finished tooling will be sold. I don't have high hopes on any unfinished moulds ever go into production. Too bad. Paul

Hi Guys, Just a bit of idle speculation. With the Welbikes being the first 1/35 scale 2 wheeled British bikes I know of, what are the chances of us being any nearer to a British Motor Cycle, or a set of British Push Bikkes for that matter? I think the Paras had the BSA M/C Al

Hi Andrew, Looks like the Welbikes are set to turn up, be it all a bit late. I would be excellent if a few more British 2 wheeled kits came along too!!
