New World Miniatures have just sent us images of their latest 1/35th scale 'Works-In-Progress'.
Two new sets are shown. The first is a set of six (?) figures for any of the U.S. Halftracks on the market although they could easily be used on other vehicles as well.

The second, is a pair of crew figures for an LRDG (Long-Range-Desert-Group) vehicle featuring driver and trooper. Both figures reflect very well the contemporary photos with the 'non-standard' uniforms worn by these troops.

Our thanks to New World Miniatures for the images!

Man I can't wait for the US H/T figures. They will be a welcome relief from the old Tamiya US soldiers at ease set. We need more soldiers (from all armies) in relaxed poses. the LRDG figures look good enough to tempt me into using them as well. John

What an excellent couple of sets. Having planned to chop and change some Brits for an LRDG project it is awesome to see sets being produced. And an excellent pair at that..

The LRDG troops are particularly nice. manufacturers often forget that DAK, Italians and 8th army often wore greatcoats or sweaters to protect themselves from the bitter cold of the desert during the winter or at night. Most figures are portrayed wearing shorts or tropical uniforms.

If only the Tamiya reissue the LRDG kit just as they do with other oldies... Paying 90+ USD for one on e-Bay is a bit too steep for me.

Panzer Resin Models do two LRDG trucks here is one and here's the other http://www.panzermodels.com.br/english/index.html [/quote] In the context of being resin kits those prices don't seem to bad to me, although I can't afford them at the moment they certainly seem good as I say for resin kits. Wonder what the quality etc. is like? Alan

Alan take a look at this thread to see one of their kits being built. http://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/124209&page=1 From the looks of it the kits are rough enough. You'd probably get a better idea if you started a new thread with your question. If there's a positive response I'd splash out on the kit and the figures myself.
