The Polish manufacturer, Adalbertus Miniatures were once again at Nuremberg - showing their New releases and talking about their future plans.
To explain, briefly, Adalbertus distribute (and commission) a wide range of products in Figures, Diorama Accesories and Aviation products. Of particular interest, for this report, are the 1/35th scale figures produced by ToRo Model (Poland) who are continuing to expand their range with some very unusual subjects in both 1/48th and 1/35th scale.
Some new pieces (shortly to become the subject of FULL reviews here) were on show on their stand and both Adalbertus' owner and the sculptor of the ToRo range spent a considerable time explaining their existing range along with their plans for the future.
For Modern AFV enthusiasts, the company will be continuing with a range of 1/35th scale figures featuring the Polish Army in Afghanistan. I was lucky enough to see the master of a driver figure which will soon enter production along with an excellent looking Platoon Sergeant.
The bulk of the future releases will, however, concentrate on WWII subjects. Scheduled for imminent release will be a Refugee Figure. Dressed in a military greatcoat, this figure will be suitable for any scene at almost any period of the war. The figure includes three different hats - A Wermacht Forage cap, Polish cap and a civilian 'Fedora' allowing it to be suitable for any time-frame. (see photos). Also shown, were some nice looking U.S. Tank-Riders. Another figure, the continuation of the company's useful range of figures in their 'Ludowe Wojsko Polskie' (Polish People's Army) series. This time, the figure is based on a wartime propaganda painting. Once again, see photos at the side. However, Wojciech Bulhak, the company's owner, was telling me of plans for a completely NEW range of figures. Covering all the opposing forces and nationalites during the Cassino Campaign, the intention is to turn this into a major new range. German Paras, Polish Infantry and the other (many) nationalities who took part will be produced. The philosophy of the company is to produce a range of figures which, with Decals included, can represent many different units and be used in many different settings.
Finally, a new Diorama piece has been announced with:
35A03 - Ruined Pharmact/Cobbler Vignette Base
This will allow the modeler to do a vignette in almost any period of WWII. Included in the set are PE pieces to reproduce the typical hanging signs (which can still be seen in many parts of Eastern Europe) the vignette base is produced in Resin and Plaster. See the photos of the painted example.
Finally, my thanks to Adalbertus Miniatures for the information and taking the time to explain their future plans for the Network!
