First of, my thanks to Marcus Nicholls of Tamiya`s Modeling magazine - for indicating the right direction to find these photos.They all come from the Tamiya/Plamodel Website...

There's been a lot of debate, speculation and rumor regarding this FUTURE release from Tamiya. However, now, hopefully it's clear. This is a COMPLETELY NEW-Tooling of the Matilda II Mark III/IV in 1/35th scale.

The photos are NOT the best, being pretty small to begin with, but more than sufficient to give an idea of what to expect.

The model will be officially announced by Tamiya at the Japanese Trade Show in May.

WOW!!!! You JUST made my day! I have been waiting for years for someone to do my girl Matilda proper justice!!! It should come as NO suprise to me,since my kit has been "aging " in my collection for some time now, and Iv just finished putting all the scratch upgrades on the turret when I read this post! lol...I must have kit attractant or something! My only question is: How long do we wait for release date?

Great News! Just out of curiosity: does anyone know the amount of work needed to convert it to an earlier Mk. as used with the BEF or in North Africa? Cheers Stef

In the latter case, they will be including parts for the Mk.III as these were used in North Africa it'll be easy. The former is considerably more difficult. It'll need a completely new (early) hull, completel replace the suspension, replacement of details such as the BESA MG and a new set of tracks. Not terribly practical...
