I love the idea of e mail stuff, I like a pdf of the information. I would to love get Emails mags and pay $1.95 to view and look at Model Military International or Fine Scale Modeler...I made this coment to Matt Usher at Fine Scale a year ago... Great new Web Site Matt ! Books in general all on line... I'm not a tree huger by any means but think of all the paper that could be saved.... Michael

Yep, that's the one...modelersite! I've purchased two PDF articles from them (@ $6 or $7 each, I think), one for Dragon's Flak 36 and the other one for Dragon's sFH 18 Howitzer. They do provide the option of actually downloading the article as a PDF doc so one does have the option with them to download and print. I do have to honestly say, however, that they are NOT worth the money. On both articles, I've found several construction errors and a real lack of explanation as to materials and techniques used both for the actual build and painting. This is, of course, just my opinion, but I don't think I'll be buying anything else from them, particularly at the prices they charge. As someone who, as you can see, is willing to try out these sort of things, I am glad to know there are others out there (didn't know about AFV Modeller) like Glenn offering us these resources. I'll be buying some for sure. Rob

Hi Rob Yes, I'm with you as regards pricing on the site. I merely pointed it out as an example and the fact they had been doing it some time. The price they are charging for one article is not far short of the price of a magazine here in the UK. I think Glenn's and AFV Modellers pricing is much more acceptable. Alan

Dear Rob We have a customer service which works since 9AM to 12PM (7 x 365). I think it would be the right way to claim there instead to say here the PDF we offer aren't useful. We have received lots of emails letting know how much those two files helped modelers and looks amazing like a claim is posted here. All the articles can't have all the techniques involved in a build, so each article has a goal, please read again and let us now the mistakes, maybe you are wrong instead those PDF. The digital age will allow freer exchange of information. I actually thought of doing this back when I was moderating over at Planet Armor as a recourse to a problem I had with one of the modelling magazines. The reason I came up with the idea was because I had some problems with this magazine who asked me to write an article on that build but then they just dropped it after I had completed it, a fair amount of wasted time for me. So being the independent type I figured why not just use the digital tools that are now at hand and publish my own work and articles and cut out the middle man. At the time I had no knowledge of anyone else doing this and figured I was onto something unique. I'm not trying to claim the copyright for the idea or anything so stupid as that (pdfs are made in the thousands everyday!)- more just to show I'm not necessarily copying anyone either once I get my pdf's organized. And the truth is that I haven't actually published anything yet. Kodos to Glenn for getting his done! My thought for PDF's SBS's - more a revolt to having someone decide about what work gets published of mine and what doesn't.
