Concord Publications have announced their latest title within their 'Warrior Series' of books.

6534 - Into the Cauldron - Das Reich on the Eastern Front

Written by Robert Michulec and Illustrations by Dmitriy Zgonnik the book follows the usual format with 52 pages, 134 photos and 4 color plates. The book carries the ISBN 962-361-170-6.

In his previous volume, Robert Michulec examined the role of "Das Reich" in the invasion of France. This latest work provides an invaluable partner as it looks at the participation of "Das Reich", now established fully as a Waffen SS division, on the Eastern Front. The volume commences with a description of the "Das Reich" Division as it took part in Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union from 22 June 1941 onwards.

Is there anything known about the quality of the image caption research? The preview on the Concord website shows an image of Stug IV's, that has already been positively ID'd as belonging to 4SS Polizei division. http://www.concord-publications.com/6534/6534.htm Also according to the Stug IV allocation file by Martin Block, 2SS never received any Stug IV's. Such an unneccesary mistake makes you wonder about the quality of the content.
