At the moment, the Japan Hobby Show is taking place. Every day, Dragon are announcing a New release. Although there are more, this one is significantly surprising to get its own News Story...
6675 - British 25 Pounder Field Gun with Limber

Not entirely a surprsie, this was leaked a couple of days ago on the company's MDFC forum. It is a surprise in that this is a very different direction for DML to take.

As i've been involved (albeit on the edges) of a similar project for the last few months, inevitably I have my own views on this announcement.

Welcome nevertheless, and hopefully a crew and tractor will be next to be announced?

Don't remember seeing this one posted under News either, announced at the same time as the 25 pounder. Greeted with much enthusiasm Alan

The Mk II would be a good weapon to have available. I disagree that the figs look like the Tamiya crew , but any gun crew in action would have similaraties. Anyway there is a nice walkabout from IMW posted in anticipation http://armorama.kitmaker.net//features/3250 I shall await developments. Al

Some with even more hope think it may lead on to Dragon producing their own version of the Bishop, but personally I think that's more likely to come from somebody with a Valentine already in their inventory. As for the crew looking similar to the Tamiya box art rendition, surely the firing positions are something laid out in training and are bound to be similar. Although of course there is at this stage no indication of a crew included. Alan

It's nice to see DML moving away from the umpteenth version of a Tiger or Sherman. I think that any addition of Allied or Axis artillery is welcome. I'm sure the DML kit will be light years ahead of the old Tamiya offering. As for the SdKfz. 10/5.....it's mine...oh yeah...it's mine. My wife told me the other day (after I got yet another kit in the mail) that I would have A LOT to do when I retire. I told her that I don't get upset when she spends money on, what I think are, useless things.... she agreed and stopped nagging me. That should buy me some breathing space for a couple of more kits anyway! Jeff

Thanks for noticing, Mark. Over 500 topic views and only 13/14 replies to that thread I wondered if anyone actually cared about an Allied model being released To be fair though what I provided was a link to PMMS, and the news wasn't hosted by Kitmaker. I'm sure the news team are working hard to catch-up after the past few weeks slow down, and you'll have hobby news as it happens here again soon.

Yep, a very welcome release and the absence of the usual DML CAD poster has me wondering if this is a spoiler for another well known brands product. Regardless it is a very welcome release if they actually do it. Having Ron V's excellent boxart though indicates it may be just a hasty announcement like the Skdfz 7 was last year or the year before. COme on DML you know you really want to do a few 6 pdr variants (Mk II, Mk IV, M1 and Airborne) with great crews. Any 6 pdr will do.

It was my intention to express my hapiness about seeing a UK item. So far I am as happy as all other modellers who have seen every pose of an Axis soldier and every piece of war from German origin in all scales now. But..............since the 25 pounder was used, even after WWII, by many countries, like in The Netherlands into the 70-ties for training purposes and ceremonies ( by 11 (NL) AfdRA) an ETO outfit for the crew would have created bigger possibilities. But, let's wait for an extra gunners set. ( To DML: any ideas for the existing US guns??? I guess we could use some!!!!!!!! Allied gun have shown up (AFV), though not too much but their crews are rara and expensive as well.)

In fact, it's still in use by the 11(nl)AFDRA for ceremonial work. Saluteshots, minute shots.. all done by them/
