Hi!,
Does anyone know anything about the quality of Master Box LTD decals? I don't want to have same problem Jesper had... My whole MB LTD kit is almost like Jesper's decals so far. Fortunately it's almost done. I primed it already - now it dries and I'm painting figures (which are quite OK.).

Hi Emre
Yes, I hope you get new decals. Otherwise find some other aftermarket solutions. Academy decals are not fit for any usage on any model.
I have read that they have started putting Cartograph decals in some of the new kits, but obviously not in my kit.
Looking forward to see your build progress.
Well, if I have to use Academy decals, I'll most possibly utilize them for measurements to make masks and paint the red crosses. It would definitely produce better results, eh?

I have now finished my Hummer ambulance - the M997. The build was fun, but the decals and the painting did not go as I wanted it.
The brown paint seems to be too light and I did not manage to darken it sufficiently. Please compare the model with the real life picture below.
The decals are terrible. I will not repeat my comments again (they can be read in one of the previous posts in this tread.) Academy simply makes terrible decals that are not fit to use on a model.
My own painting mistake and the terrible decals resulted in an average model that will go to the back of the shelve. That being said the model goes together well and with some new decals or masked painted insignia it could be build into a reasonable model.
It was still fun to participate and I am looking forward to follow everybody else participating in this campaign.
Edit: the pictures seem a little dark on my screen at least. I will try to take some new ones during daylight.

Hi,
@ Jesper - nice one! I see that the decals problem is solved and solved well!
@ Christer - awesome diorama. Big respect for adjusting the size of diorama exactly to the necessary size and no cm^2 more .
@ Doug - I haven't seen this version of Sherman before so I'm waiting to see this one finished.

Well Christer,
I hope my figures turn out as well as yours!
You've done a great job there, it really looks the part, a tight and well made dio, congrats!
Am nearing completion now, hope to post something soon!
Cheers,
James

Hi all,
it looks like there is going to be a change of plan yet again.
I managed to get my hands on the MR conversionset for the 251/8 I originally planned, so I am in doubt now. Another reason for doubting is that I just can not get the camo-pattern right on the tent. It just doesn't look good (understatement of the year).
Anyone any tips or suggestions?? I don't want to set the diorama I was making aside and let it collect dust.
@ Christer;
very well done! You've proven that small things can be great too!!

Thanks, Andrzej. I appreciate it. It is an average build and the decal problem is not really solved, but only minimized. Luckily it does not show too much on the pictures.
Thanks for the comment

Jesper, nice job! Christer, looking mighty fine. Great presentation.
Got the superstructure on and bit more work done too the engine deck. Next job will be exhausts, plumbing (not sure what those 2 parts do?? ) etc.
Thanx, Doug

Great conversion you have going. This is a whole new Sherman conversion to me - I have never seen it before. Are you working from plans or from pictures. Anything (pictures/history) you can share on this version of the Sherman?
Looking forward to see more

Jesper, a bit of both but mainly pictures. Using the Verlinden Israeli Shermans, Tom Gannon's Israeli Shermans and ascale drawing from "mouse House" in Australia. Info on the vehicle is a little uncertain. Might have been a 1 of or a prototype .

Question for the campaign leader: I've got an old Dodge Ambulance which could use a major repair and restore job. Would that be ok as campaign entry or does it need to be a new kit?

Yes, you can refurbish an old build and enter it! (Looks great as is though!)

Well not anymore Missing 1 back door (still have it), 2 wheels (got 1 of them), and the windows are a disaster (way to thick, don't really fit well).
I'll try to leave the interior intact, nothing wrong with that. So the repair work will be on the outside mainly.
Got this figure set in my stash as well:

I wish the Large medic decals would have worked out, they would have been impressive on the side panels, they would have taken up,half of the side, DAM!!!
Oh! I think I got it,but it's not the way Ive done it before, but what ever works!!!

Hi! I didn't inform about my progress recently - probably because ther was no progress. Model is so unperfect that there is not much fun in building it...
Anyway - here's my Sanitäter. Basicly done, needs some more shading and he's a little bit to clean, but I still have time for that.
I hope you like it.
More pictures soon.
