The results of a couple of hours yesterday
That's a nice looking beard you made there, Sean, looks just like the ones those commando's in Afghanistan have.
The other two also nice progress on your para's
As for me, the last things I had ordered finally came, so now I'm happily building as well
Started with the turret from the Tiger II, put the commander (from a MIG Productions kit) together (he's to offer some Fallschirmjäger a ride and the metal barrel from Aber is in front (poor quality photo I know, blame it on the camera in my phone, the only camera I have

Luck!
Ron, scene from Bastogne, Dec 1944?
Small update here; construction of the Tiger is almost complete, just a few small items and then the wheels...
and then to the painter
Here's a little update photo (a bit better as the previous one, still a bit blurry, got to get a real camera some day, and remember, 1:72 is small):
The dio is not part of the campaign, just wanted to see how it would look amongst the trees, normally a T-62 lives in this little dio.
Until next time,

Yep,
inspiration came from Bastognemuseum and mr. Volstad's boxart.

Hello
Interesting builds starting on this campaign. maurice I like the look of the King Tiger in the trees. My build started . having a few problems with the 75mm pack howitzer. It's an old AEF resin kit. it's full of small air holes & some bits are broken but the main problem I've had is that the main struts for the frame are terribly warped. I've boiled them twice now & there as straight as there going to get. I've assembled as much as I can.
http://s377.photobucket.com/albums/oo218/muddyfields/glider%20troops%20%20pack%20howitzer/ Building for My pleasure & hoping others like what I build.
Being built at the moment
Way too many unfinished.

They still appear to be slightly warped, but maybe you can hide it a little with some camouflage netting or something like that.

My Eastern Front Campaign Entry is practically done, so I started tinkering about with my build for this campaign. The title will be:"Nice shootin', Rex!"
I basically build the figures out of the box with the addition of a homemade German. This one has been put together using parts from the sparesbox. The Kettenkrad is an old Tamiyapiece, used for measuring only. The remnants of the PaK 37 will be restored by adding a turned barrel, left over from a Dragon-kit and an etched gunshield.
This is how I wanted it to do at first...
And this is how it will be done now...

Nice layout of the scene, Ron. It is always difficult to show dead soldiers in dioramas.
Looking forward to see more.

Jeff, great looking camouflage! You really got the right colors for the Zeltbahn pattern. Which paint did you use and what scale are these figures?

@ Jeff: That camo looks good and I think it is one of the hardest to paint. I tried, but failed miserably!
Thanks Jesper. I changed the setting yet again, as I wasn't happy wityh the looks of it.
Creating a dead guy sure isn't as easy as it looks!
I made a new casualty, because the first one made the scenery look unbalanced and overcrowded. I base it on this picture, which is a bit gruesome, but helpfull.
The scene as it looks now:
The dead german:
And a comparison of the Dragon and tamiya Kettenkrad. I don't know what vehicle Tamiya used as a refference, but you see the differences!

hi, i've finally been able to do some more work after being very unwell for about a week so here are some photo's
i bought a set of hornet heads to replace the not very good dragon ones
so i drilled out the neck in order to fit it
although i will paint the head seperately i did a test fit
i think the head really suites what i have done with the figure
what do you guys think?
thanks Simon

Great work guys! It's a shame but I haven't even started yet...
Ron, I'm building same model of Kettenkrad (Dragon) - I've checked with some referrence pictures and it seems that both - Tamiya and Dragon have some differences between them and originals.

Ron,I like your dio build idea, thats going to look good with snow and will you have the deceased German frozen ? That would look good...Simon,you've got it going on,I like the P.E. that you've added! Can't wait to see more..

Thanks very much, i really think the P.E adds extra dimension to the webbing instead of it just being flat detail.
will post more picks when i can
cheers

Jeff, great job on the camouflage as already pointed out by the others.
Ron, the new dead soldier looks much more realistic and you certainly has the references in order on that one.
Looking forward to see more.

Andrzej,come on,get your feet wet,whatcha waiting for
I’m waiting for someone to finish my 1/16 T34 for Eastern Front campaign… Honestly all I need is some more time now… My son’s first teeth are coming out to light so he is very time-absorbing now and after whole day at work, afternoon of carrying that little (ha! Little… 9 kilos little…) guy and playing with him all I think of is to seat down, drink some tea or beer and mindlessly watch next episode of Battlestar Galactica.
I’ve almost finished assembly of first four figures (of 13 planned), and painted a face of 1/16 figure… I’ll post some pics soon (I hope).
