Great small diorama, Christer. I can almost hear him screaming with bullets flying overhead.

@ Christer - I must tell you I've been waiting for this one. You have a devoted fan of your small dioramas here . Vere realistic.

@ Bruce, thanks again for keeping the hand on the steering wheel while I'm looking other way . Gallery is in place.
If you are interested in my K5 Leopold you can find my build log HERE.

Hi everybody,

I was completely forgotten that I enlisted to this campaign, but after seeing this topic I remembered that I had enlisted. Fortunately I didn't forget the I idea what I was planning to make.

It will be a rather easy and simple vignette I'm making around the ww1 monument that MK35 sells.

I will add some US para's around the monument, with a bit of a feeling like in one of the first scenes in Band of Brothers chapter Carentan (it was??) where the soldiers were resting and sitting around a fountain, before going into combat again.

This is the monument:

This is one of the figures I will use from Resicast, which is actually quit nice.

Both pictures are from the companies website.

I will soon post some progress-pictures.

I was just considering doing that very same scene Maybe this will be an excuse to finish off all those Britis paras I've got laying around

So...??? Matthew, I really don't see a problem when you have the same idea. As we're both independent minds, it's even interesting to see what two different people make from the same subject. So please go ahead with your original idea!

Hello
The build has been finished on the figures for the gun crew. have primed them ready to start the painting. Still need to work out how the diorama will work. probably will set the gun in some remains of a small building with the gun crew uncovering it ready for the next fire mission.
The link is to photobucket for some more images of the primed crew & gun.

I have made some more progress on my Jagdtiger for my diorama. The details are painted. Next step is to add the decals and get some mud on those tracks.

More to follow...

Shaun, Jesper,

Nice work so far!
I'm taking few days of vacation from the Leopold gun and trying to catch up other projects.
I've already painted few faces, assembled figures and started painting them. Mortar is assembled as well. I will post some pics as soon as they're done.

Finally my pocket-panzer (ASU-57) is getting closer to finish line. Incredibly big step, the first steps were done in 2003
Nowadays I am finishing the interior and the individual track links (it was horrible to make it). The tarp was fun to make.
Next steps: base coat application (Russian green) and faded-chipped winter camo.

Actually, this is the prefect excuse to finish a vignette I've had on the back burner for years; one of my all time favorite movie scenes is from The Longest Day where Maj Howard is standing on the edge of Pegasus Bridge (then the Orne River Bridge) thinking about his orders, that will be my piece with Howard in the foreground and a bunch of paras securing the area in the background, I'll be using a Resicast figure for Howard and one of the new Masterbox sets for the others and maybe one or two other Resicast figures

Great work so far - I know this kit and it looks like you've gave these guys a lot of energy by modifying them.

@ Marcin,
Very nice work! It's MB kit, right?

@ All
I think it's high time to present my progress on this one... I couldn't chose one kit so I started three in the same time. Faces are basicly ready (except for eyes - I paint them when rest of figure is ready because I like to know what the figure is looking at before I paint the irises). Trousers are painted, so is green jacket, as well as ochra base colour on rest of jackets, I've also started painting splinter camo.

More coming soon (I hope).

yes, it MB's kit. Kit is not top quality (some seams and fit problems) but I like the faces. Decal are awfull. They are so stiff that you're not able to put them in place even after using softener. I gave up after first sleve flag being applied.

I do agree - MB's faces are great (finally something different from Dragon and Tamiya, not mentioning ALF from Academy (these are ugly as cow's bottom ) ) but their decals are disaster - hard to apply even on flat surface...

I'm thinking about buying MB's "Bailing Out" kit for Bitter Taste of Defeat but I doubt figures will fit M4A2 Lend Lease Sherman.
BTW, I can see that now you're addicted to campaings

Hi Andrzej,
your figures look great. Let us know how you do that splintertarn, ok??
The rifle of the figure on the far right does look strange. Was it broken??
@ Marcin:
I like the way those faces turned out. Good job!
Also the colours of the uniforms are splendid. What did you use for those?
Just one small remark, though.
You may want to do something about the badgesquare under the AA-badge. It is very visible (on the photo)

For me it is time to start on the snow and I'm having a bit of cold feet, because of that.
I found a great "how-to" on making snow and I'm about to try it. It's an article by Cheehong Ahn.

I'm happy you like'em. As soon as at least one of these guys is finished I'll post short fortostory about how I did the camo.
You're righ, riffle broke during assembly - I will replace it later.

@ Marcin,
Sure I'm addicted... beer, coffee, music, campaigns... same stuff - can't live without'em.

Colours of uniforms are German WW II Camo Beige (821) and Medium Grey (987) from Vallejo.
I already dealed with that badge square (Btw, I was wondering why it was made in that angle) with Mr Surfacer ( I hope to post pics soon)

Bunker (well, pice of it) is born:

Marcin,
How did you make form lines on concrete walls? Simply smoothing the plaster?
It looks really good.

Yes, I was smoothing the plaster (I was using some kind of acrylic filler called "Finisz") downwards and after few milimiters I stopped and pressed the spatula a bit harder or move it back slightly. It's better (easier) when you apply thick layer (3-4 mm) than the thin one, like you would use to even wall at home.
