Giovanni, your Famo looks absolutely amazing!!
Fantastic job on that one. Do you have a buildinglog on it, somewhere? I'd like to see more of the w.i.p. if possible.

Here is a progress photo of the Tamiya Hanomag Sdkfz 251/1 that I am working on.
I hope to get it washed up today and let it dry and get a base coat on it. Hopefully I will have another progress photo to show in the next few days.
Thanks.

Hi guys, this is my effort for this campaign, I've been working on Trumpeters M16. Such a big build, I would normally build the whole thing and then paint. But with this I'am building in stages too make sure i get all those little hard to get at places

Hey,Ross. Me too,I just started, and am slowly making my way along, while broadcasting on Blog TV.
Did you notice there was no fan belt?
Also,I looked in the Hunnicutt book about halftracks, and the front peep sight isn't on the 50's.Also you will have to add a solenoid above buffer spring holder on the rear of the gun's backplate.
Hunnicutt for the win.

Hi Guys,
Sorry about all the removed posts...couldn't get my photos to link.
Anyhow, here's my first halftrack contribution. This is the old Tamiya M3A2 I’ve had in the stash on the shelf for over 30 years...it still had the $3.50 price sticker on it! I was looking for something to build out of the box without a lot of fuss. I tend to get bogged down in involved projects and promised myself I'd finish a kit before starting another one. As it turned out, I polished this off in a little over a week even taking into account all the sanding required to remove the molded-on detail for the M3A2 version which never reached production status. Nothing fancy but it was fun to build.
Still in the mood for more olive-drab, I’ve cut the cellophane on a bit more involved project---the DML M2/M2A1 which I'm doing as an M2.

Mirko, your Sdkfz7 and the FH look outstanding, but what about markings? Any plans? I must agree that the Tamiya figures are not doing it the justice it deserves, some (like the driver, which will be partially hidden) should be o.k., but I would probably not use all the figures.
Tuomas, looking forward to see your 251/22 progress. Worn winter white wash... good choice , how are you going to apply the worn effect?
Giovanni, superb looking FAMO with 37FlaK. I like that bicycle on the back...
Harv, looking forward to see you starting to paint it.
Ross, stop showing us pictures of the real thing, and get back to glueing plastic. That engine looks like it would start first go.. beautiful work.
Carl, now that Ross has set the bench mark, I can see some serious 1/16 scale competition developing... (glue off? Paint off?? Wot no fanbelts...) Nice work on the .50's...
Now to my own:
I finished the Sd.Kfz. 250/1 last Saturday, well, as far as goes until it goes on a base. I still have to decide, if it is going on a base on its own, or in a larger diorama...
I entered it in a comp last Sunday, on a impromptu MDF base (all entries had to be on a base?? Even if not attached... ). I managed a 'Highly Commended', which considering the lousy presentation, was not to bad.

Carl, I just had a look at your build blog, great viewing, I too had a fun time fitting those tyre inserts, only to find there's no way the wheel rims would stay together with the inserts in, so I removed which was just as much fun getting them out.
I Don't think the tyres will go out of shape without them, it's a pretty stiff rubber in those tyres.
And yeah what's with the lack of fanbelt? and plug wires for that matter.
Henk, Thanks for the great comments on my build so far, i will post more shots in the near future.
Cheers Ross

Henk, that 250 turned out to be very well, I believe it deserves a small base with a couple of figures around. Don't toss it in a larger diorama where it will get lost.
I admire the work of 1/16 halftrack builders, way to go guys!

Thanks, Ross. For their age the Tamiya kits aren't bad if you can overlook the running gear and tracks. I still have several more on the shelf so will probably do at least a couple more . I'm thinking about converting one to the the M9 and another to a T30.
I'm embarrassed to admit that in all the years I've been modeling this is the first US vehicle I've done. Dozens on the shelf but always picked a German subject instead. Now, the floodgates are open and I can't get enough olive drab. I plan to do a collection of 6 or 7 US halftrack variants now that DML is releasing such beauties.
Take care,
Dave
PS Your M16 is looking great. Can't wait to see the beast when you're finished.

Hello everybody, well I know that the figures so far look really bad but I am doing some minor improvements like changing hands and heads by Verlinden's...more pics coming soon...
About the markings I still have no clue about where to find them as the originals that came with the kit are completely ruined, all yellow and moldy since apparently this kit is back from the 70's......I was thinkimg about painting the numbers and some other minor markings with a 10/0 and some oils but any suggestions are welcome....
Henk your 250 looks great, going into a dio by any chance???

@ Ross: nice going on the M16. It reallt rocks!
@ Henk: Your 250 has come a long way. It turned out great. Just 1 little remark; the fronttires look very clean, compared to the rest of the vehicle.
@ Mirko: I'm looking forward to see what you are doing about the figures.
What decals do you need, by the way? I have quite a few spares, so....
As for my 251/2, I thought I could enhance it by using Dragon-spareparts, but unfortunately these don't fit!!
So I'll be adding the good old copper wire and plastic card to do the job...

Good day all -
Great work by all supporting this campaign so far, simply stunning!
Have finished my build for this campaign (whew!) One out of the last three aren't too bad...
It's DML's Sd.Kfz. 2/2 kleines Kettenkrad, with the cable laying assembly. Built it OOB, painted in Tamiya German Grey (XF-63), using various Model Master enamels to pick out the details. Tracks are the kit's individual links, not too bad to assemble once clean-up was finished.
Didn't weather it too extensively, used WarPigs Faded Panzer Gray (017) to lighten up the basecoat color a bit. Tracks could use some more work (so go easy on them! HA!), but wanted to get it finished for the campaign before tackling the paint job for my King Tiger.
Here you go!
Any comments/critisicm welcome, please!
Thanks for looking.
Cheers -
Tim

Hey guys!
Thought I'd say hello. I just came over from the Styker Campaign. I've been following all of the great builds going on here. Very cool stuff.
I broke the seal on my 1/35th Dragon M2A1 Half-Track over the weekend. I'm going to try to pull off the winter camo scheme:_| .
Cheers,

Hi guys,
This is my first participation in a campaign.
I'm presenting you my recent sd.kfz 251 Stuka zu fuss.
The 251/1 ausf.C is the first 251 released by Dragon (6187).
I added the rockets from my Cyber-hobby 251/2 2 in1 kit.
You'll recognize the figure from the Afv Club 251/22.
cheers to all,
Pat

Well, if there is still some room and I don't know when the campaign finishes, I'm starting to build this DML model that I think will fit in this campaign:
here some pics
It will be Peiper's command Half-track "Emil", you maybe will recall this project Ron
some Eduard Photoetched parts will also be added
And I'm still waiting for the decals by echelon details to arrive
cheers

@Tim: The kettenkrad looks good, but I think it needs a little more work to make it stand out. The tracks seem to hover over the wheels and The Krad itself looks "flat" and toylike. A few more washes and a bit of weathering would do the trick. Even a relatively new vehicle would have shades and highlights.
@ Patrick: I really think you did a great job on this diorama. Can you show us/me how you did that house? I am planning to build one just like that and any tips/hints would be most welcome.
This "Stuka" really does look the part! The exterior and the interior are beautifully build and painted. I do have a few nitpicks on it though. The bottom half of the vehicle and it's interior do looks used and muddy, but the upper half looks clean and allmost brand new. Maybe the 2 should be blended more. Also the butts on the mg's are black, but I think brown would be more appropriate. It would bring the mg's out more, too.
@ Daniel: I sure do remember this one! I am really looking forward to seeing it materialise!!
My ancient Tamiya 251 has had the most of it's interior chopped out again and I noticed that I am missing quite a few parts, such as the levers next to the driver, the seats, so I'll have to dig these up or scratch them.
Also the mortar has a few small parts missing, so I'll have to recreate those too. I allready hollowed out the bore of the tube, which was a hell of a job, since the resin is quite soft and breaks quite easy.
As for the tracks, I put aside the original rubber bands and used a brand of tracks I once got for free. They are dark brown hard plastic ones, so no real problems there. These come with the trackpads as these are of black vinyl and will not stick with ordinairy glue. I'll have to superglue each one of them and I do not look forward to that!!
I'll ad pictures sometime tomorrow...
