Thanks Jason !

It has been fun, but I've been struggling for motivation on this project recently.... maybe because I prefer to do 'real' tanks !

If I did it again, I would substitute the pigment application for oils, it has been a really messy process making it so dusty Lesson learnt !!

I think I may do the same concept with the Hobby Boss 2A4 kit....

I've learnt a fair bit on this project and I'll apply those lessons to the next ones.

BTW: I just picked up the Italeri Leo 1A5 re-issue on evil bay

All the best for the new year !

Thanks Anthony !

I used the 'good old' hairspray technique to get the worn look on the blade edge, it came up Ok.

A fair bit of modification was required to get the Trumpeter Challenger II Dozer blade to fit also

Happy new year !

Paul;

What did you use to create the .50 cal mount? It looks lie an M1A1 mount?

A very nice build.

HI Gary !

I used part of the Mouse House 50 cal mount from the ASLAV PC (Phase II update = pre RWS). The conversion I have (when done) will use the RWS instead.

Thanks for looking !

I thought I'd start another "What If ?" Australian Leopard 2.

This time it'll be a Leopard 2A5 (Tamiya - I love this kit), as an Australian machine, with a couple of Alpine OIF Tankers as Aussie Tankers in Oz Cam Uniforms

I have the Mouse House Enamel Paints for the Tank Camo, and I like what I'm seeing !

Cheers

That is a great looking build Paul the Leo 2 is a mean looking tank.

I had always hoped we'd go for the Challenger II, I mean why settle for second best?, I'd love to see what you could do with one of them.

G'day Magpie !

I have a copy of the Auditor General's report into the Acquisition of the Abrams Main Battle Tank.

Report

The Leopard 2 was never really a chance due to cost, it's a shame the purchase didn't happen in 2011., as there are a lot of cheap Leopard 2's on the market now

Having said that, interoperability with the US is also a main reason for the purchase.

Anyway I've almost completed the lower hull on my second Leopard 2. I'll do a Challenger 2 next

Cheers

Progress !!

I have assembled my "What if ?" Australia Leopard 2A5 (Tamiya).

Primer is next, followed by AUSCAM using Mouse House's excellent Enamel paint set (Olive Drab Lusterless, FS30219 Brown, and FS37038 Black).

Markings will be as per the Leopard AS1 1st Armored Regiment using the Mouse House set MAD606

Here is where I'm at :

I'm using the Alpine US OIF Tank Crew for my Aussie Leopard 2A5.

There are no changes to the figures to make them "current" Australian "Tankers" as this is a "What if ?", but they're done in OzCam.

Cheers
