The lower hull is nearly complete now, the road wheels and tracks are next to be weathered. This how she's looking so far.

Once I have everything secured to the base I'll do the final weathering and touch ups.

Woah...

No way! You did not build that! You took the real thing, and put it on a massive piece of paper and photographed it! just kidding, this is incredible. Keep it up!

Rob,
this has been one of my favorite topics since you first posted it. I really like what you have done with this model.
Any chance I will be able to see this in person some time? Do you attend model shows?

Wings & Wheels is coming up in Chicopee, MA March 29th, 2009

OK guys, lets not get too carried away here, I'm just a model builder like you, but I do appreciate the wonderful feedback. Thank you.
Steve I don't think I'll make it to the Chicopee show but I will definitely go to the Attleboro show. I should have enough models to display by then. Right now this the only model I have.
I did some more work on this wreck and she's just about done now. Here is a basic layout of the dio.

Most of the debris is done, I just have to figure out where to place it. There is a lenth of tracks that will be hanging off the glacis plate and road wheels scattered about. When the model is glued to the base, then the ash will be applied as burnt rubber.
I have been trying to hold back from starting the next wreck so I could finish this one, but when it's done the next ones will be on the bench.

Rob,
AMPS Nordland is doing a "Panzerwrecks" themed club build in the near future. To drum up interest I added a link to this thread.

You are a real talent man- you knocked this one out of the park. I look forward to seeing it in Attleboro!

Fantastic work again Rob! I really like how you have pieced everything together for the dio-the realism and detail is awesome! I have gained much knowledge for my own Panzer IV E build! Who needs reference photos when we can all just view this build! Stunning!

Semper Fi!

What you are doing with the Panzer IV is fantastic

You're not related to chukw1 over at Aeroscale are you? because you appear to be armours' answer to him
can't wait to see more

Cheers

Guys..thanks a bunch, your feedback is keeping me on this build or I would have started a couple of others by now.
I started the ground work today. I glued some of the parts down already and when the sand has dried I will do some painting on the base and try to finish this build this weekend. Here is how it's looking so far.

While the base is drying I'll start on the next project. The PZIV F2 on a Sd.Anh. 116.

I'm nearing the finish line with this build. The base has been painted and some debris glued in place, I still need to embed and glue the rest in place. Here is the rough layout so far.

Once everything is in it's place I'll do the final touch ups and post the end result.

Rob

Thanks guys, your waaaaay too kind. I haven't gotten around to finishing off this model yet, I got side tracked again with the F2 model. When it's done I will post pics with better lighting.

Rob, this is absolutely stunning! great job on this wreck. you ever think about wrecking something other than german armor? perhaps a t-34 or IS-2? If you do keep up with the german wrecks, what about a Tiger wreck?
