Al, yes, in action. Trying to do justice to Lance Sergeant Baskeyfield who earned the VC at Arnhem for his fightin to the end with his two gun section. Small vignette, probably 3-4 figures. Thinking of doing a "Now and Then" with a modern day scene with some vets coming back to pay tribute.
but then, we'll see how the summer goes!

Hi Guys,
how is progress coming along? I got a bit diverted by an Italeri Jeep plus doin g some reviews, and have only done a little painting on my last 3 MB figures, might get a bit more done this afternoon.
For a bit of an experiment I took this pic this afternoon. I had built the towed 6pdr for my T16 but wondered what it might look like married to the RA jeep. Wouldn't be appropriate in this format ie covered unless it had jusy be taken off a glider. Boy do we need a new plastic version.
Getting back to airborne things I'm about to start on some airborne trailers, and have picked up another couple of jeep conversions, some drivers and another para or two (Duxford was expensive lol, lol)

Hi Guys,
well had a look again at the 3 MB paras. This was the first pose
but I decided to switch a couple of arms, hope this will work better as I will have more flexibility in placing the kneeling guy and it seemed to me someone with a damaged arm and head wound would might he steadying himself against something. Also replaced the lump like hand on the kneeling chap.

'Wot' - all quite on the Western Front?
A bit more work and thoughts on the wounded troops. Wanted to do some kit beside the trooper so have added some straps and bits to one of the AA bergens. I would like to do an open haversack for the medic, so that his hand is in it, I've seen this done but never tried it. The uptured helmet needs some straps and is from Ultracast.

Hi Guys,
well these chaps are one step closer to being done. I still need to add a red cross decal to his hanging haversack and add the two little harness straps at the back of the helmet. He has an open haversack filled with some bandages. Perhaps put some kind of bottle of medicine in his hand.

I must say, Alan, that you sure topped me doing these figures!!
They look stunning.
But with the amount you did, you did get some experience with them, right?
How's the dio coming? It should be huge to facilitate all the figures and equipment.
It is very quite on the Arnhem-front.
Maybe I built to fast?
Or is it the summer kicking in?

Hi Ron,
Thanks, I thought your dio was great, really inventative. At least you got finished, I might still be building next year
Yes, things seem very quite, not much activity around. I know both Pat and Karl are working on some cool projects and Gideons 6pdr project could be very interesting.
Lots of interesting things to come that's for sure.

Hey guys, I've been looking on the web to find photos of any SdKfz 162's in service during Operation MG. My reference indicates SdKfz 162/2 were available, but no mention of the early 162's. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Mobious,
Sorry, I can't help on the German vehicles, perhaps some of the German experts could. There doesn't seem to be much activity here at the moment might be better posting the question again the the general forum.

Thanks Alan for the suggestion, I've spent nearly 2 weeks on the interlink attempting to find the color plate I'd seen a couple of years ago. I just located it. It's a color plate from the book"German Vehicles at Arnhem" by Marcel Zwarts, a Concord Publication. The color plate depicts a SdKfz 162 belonging to SS Panzerjager Abt 9, which was part of the 9th SS div, II SS PzKorp. I knew I'd seen these somewhere. Whew what a search. I looked for a copy of this book at Amazon, but I didn't see it listed. As I mentioned earlier, My reference only mentioned the L/70 versions belonging to the Panzerjager Abt. 559.
Anyway, The figures you've been modeling are great. The variety in sizes and statue give good diversity considering the number in the scene. The painting is especially well done. The Jeep and the AT gun great too. Nice work and looking forward to seeing progress on your dio.

Hi Everyone,
Wow, I love the work that everyone has posted so far. Great detail!
I basically restarted my project. Took the Dremel cutting tool to my project, and in the meantime have been trying to work on the figures some. These are my first attempts and some pictures that I took a week or so ago. I should have something new in a very short time as well.
Nice to see so much good work going on.

Hey Billy, I built the 1/35 scale Italeri BMW w/sidecar kit sometime ago, a really fun kit to build. One of my favorite subjects. Motorcycles. One thing I thought was interesting was that the sidecar wheel was powered by a linkage from the motorcylces rear hub.
It's been sometime since posting here on Armorama, I'll try to post more pics of the progress on the JagdPzIV. I've built the Dragon Early production (Kit 9021) pretty much OOB, just adding the zimmerit with laquer spot putty and a screwdriver. I've also added a set of Fruilmodel tracks, I botched the kit supplied individual tracklinks after I'd spent several hours cleaning the knockout marks from them. Nearly had me in tears. The kit is a really nice kit with very few issues. The L/39 maingun is molded with the seams horizontal instead of verticle and with a seperate muzzle break. Nicely done IMO. I wish the folks at Dragon would have molded the threaded barrel end as a seperate optional piece too. Here is a photo of the Jagdpanzer in primer, I should have the camo laid down this afternoon if all goes well.

Hey Alan, The stowage on the Jeep is very well done and the detail on the trailer is great.
I've started painting on the JgdPzIV. Beginning the weathering on this one too. The camo isn't 100% to the color plate just a guestimation. A photo of the progress.
" BORDER="0">
The crew is still in primer, but I plan on starting them soon.

that panzer seems to be shaping up quite nicely mobious, and Alan your figs and vehicles are just amazing.
I am still building, I have the base coat on the Sherman it's drying at the moment and the base coat is on my German 20 MM AA gun as well, all that is left is the finishing work and the figs and the jeep, somehow this project has exploded in size for me.

Thank you both for words of encouragement, I started the weathering, by drybrushing and adding chipped paint. I'll try to get photos up when the JgdPz is finished.
Cody, I can totally relate to this statement. I find myself reigning in my imagination. I've already thought up 3 more viginettes, 1) the original mortar crew I promised 2) an abandoned 88 with souvenior hunters 3) something with a Jeep, Alan's Jeep is inspiring!
Anyway, I'll limit myself to this build for now and see how things shape up, commitment wise, before considering another go.

Hi Guys,
Great to hear everyone is still building away. Cody and Modious thanks for the comments guys and Cody I know how you feel . The more I read about this operation the more I think a second or third dio will be required to do it justice lol, lol.
I'll look forward to the updates.
Another of my Duxford purchases was a set of the airborne containers and a set of the Wee Friends Paras lol, lol.
I have to confess follow up planning is already underway lol, lol.

Hey guille, I took a photo of the Italeri 1/35 Beemer I'd built awhile ago. The original photos were kinda bad. The saddle bags/mounts and the MG 34 mount were scratched. Along with adding cables/linkages and modifying a set of Royal Models spoke rims to fit the tires provided in the kit. There are alot of great reference shots of these vehicles. I'm fortunate enough to live nearby a museum where several are on display.

I still have a couple of the Motorcycles to build in the stash. No cushmans though.
