Going to do either the mine roller T1E3 with the Dragon Normandy Sherman.
Or the Dragon Tarawa one or maybe the Academy M4A2 with fading trunks and AFV club tracks.
Cheers
Sounds great Jeff,

Beans,
I think a few of us have listed Sherman IIIs (British designation for M4A2) in our plans! (I've got a Tasca one to do, and just got hold of the Dragon Sherman III with welded hoods...) I can't recall if anyone has committed to a Russian one yet.
Tom
Hi Tom,
Cool, I guess that would be me for now, haha. I got the Dragon M4A2 [76] which will be pretty much an out of the box thing. Are you using any detail sets with yours?

Beans,
I'm a tragic sufferer of AMS, and I cannot remember the last time I managed to build a kit with only the contents of the box! The M4A2s in my list will need some modifications to match photos I have (different wheels & tracks, mostly) but I steer clear of the high end of the aftermarket scene. So no resin conversion sets or upgrades (usually) and definitely no photo-etch - I tend to do my detailing with things made up from Evergreen plastic stock because scratch-building parts is part of the fun for me. Fortunately the only real trouble with Shermans comes if you want to add an interior to see through all the nice hatches...
If you want to get good mileage from any upgrades your best bet is to start with the .50cal on the turret. Tamiya & Italeri never made good ones, and both Academy & Dragon took some time to get it right. Tasca makes the best in plastic bar none, and the newer Academy guns are quite reasonable too. Both makers offer them in inexpensive detailing sets.
I'll let you know what I'm using as I go. Not because I want to keep secrets in the run-up, but because I'm never sure how much modification I'll do until I do it.
It's gonna be a long fun year!

Hey guys
I'm wondering if anyone has some photos of a knocked out sherman firefly, or some tips for doing battle damage. I'm planning on doing a dio of a knocked out sherman at some stage and need some reference photos.

@ Tom, this is my first time dealing with PE parts but I don't think I'll be using much of it, it's such a fret, hehe. I haven't tried Tasca's offerings yet but I've been reading about it and it seems like the best choice so far. It would be cool to see how yours build up!
I wonder what everyone else is building right now? Four more weeks...

John,
There are some photos of knocked out Shermans on some of the last pages of the Pacific Campaign Tread.

Hey John & welcome to the Campaign.
Here are a couple of images of a knocked out Polish Firefly at Falaise..
Not much damage, but the visiting troops show you of a possible dio idea.
Cheers

Hi All,
I was planning to build a Tamiya M4A3 OOB. Then I got sent to Yuma Proving Ground for work. They have a bunch of AFVs on display, one being an M4A3 named "'Ol War Horse", with cool tracks, lots of battle damage and attachments for a 'dozer blade.
Now I want to add all that stuff. Man, I knew this was going to happen!!

Hi Guys,
I've put my M32 on hold until the start of the campaign, decided to replace my effort at nuts on the suspension units. I picked up the Resicast M4A4 interior when I was at Duxford and will build it and an AVR Mk I conversion which will probably be as much as I get done. But if time and opportunity permit then an M4 DV option using the Formation hull might get a look in too.
Cheers

I still plan on making my first build the OOTB Firefly Hybrid IC (New dragon release).
However I also have the new Tasca M4A3 w 76 on the way
Probably do a Tasca VC Firefly and a Tasca M4A4 also
Cheers
Paul
BTW: I have quite a few Tasca III's so anything is possible

can someone help me with getting the banner in my signature area? I can't seem to do it :

Well bugger.. I seem to have spoilt myself for choice now...
Bought a reduced price damaged box DML US M4A1 DV, so that along with a DML M4A3(76)W Premium (yeah I know, buying this one earlier in the year got all you the Tasca version made
) and have a Tamiya M4A3(75)W and Tasca M4A1 late rounding 2nd approaching 3rd, it'll be Shermania here for a while...
Oh, and I'm intending to get a tank commander figure sculpted soon enough to complement the tank eventually...

Should be simple. The banners and the URLs to them are on page 6 last message of this campaign thread. Just select the URL of the banner you want and copy it to your clipboard. Then go to your profile page by clicking your name (top-right corner of the window) then click on "Modify Profile". Scroll down and you will see a box for the URL of your signature image. Click in the box and paste from the clipboard. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Save Changes button and that should be it.

Evening all!
I never did answer that question about which M51 I plan to do. I've got a couple in mind:
1. '73, Golan. My problem here (aside from the engine deck) is that I don't have any photo sources of M51s from that particular conflict. Any help would certainly be appreciated!
2. '90s, the end of the line. There's a couple of good shots in Tom Gannon's book of Avigdor Kahalani in an M51 during the retirement cerimony for the tank in IDF service. Seems like a natural to me.
Of course, either way will require some tinkering to the basic kit. But that's why we do this, right?
Michael

Hello
May I join the campaign?
Sherman is one of my favorite tanks.
Recently, I finished the two models from Dragon.
M4A3 from Iwo Jima called “Beelzebub” and M4A2 (76) Red Army.
Currently I’m working on the M4 Sherman from Normandy.
Best regards from Poland

Thanks Paul from the warm welcome :-)
I want to finish M4 from Normandy.
I think about M4A1 from Italy or M4 Composite Hull “Bury”.
Best regards

Sounds Good,
I like the idea of the Composite Hull Krzysztof.
Make sure you post pics of your current M4 build as you complete it (although it will not be eligible for a ribbon as you have started already).
If your previous builds are any indication, the build you choose for our Campaign will be brilliant !
