PM - this link goes to the entry in the Campaign Docket for your proposed campaign - "Death From Above". There's already enough interest in the campaign to make it official - just rules and or categories should be nailed down before I submit it to Big Jim for creation of a Campaign Folder.

Also, thanks to a great suggestion from crs - yours is the first Campaign Docket entry to include a link back to this thread - it's Genesis Thread...

.....No completed kits are to be submitted, however i will allow partially constructed kits.. this doesn't mean all you have to do is glue the wheels on and you're finished! You must still have at least 85% of the kit to build to fall into this catagory.

Please elaborate a little more of the above? Thanks.

as promised PM, more comments!

Just to bring this out into the open, I am not looking for an award or a medal, I just want another ribbon for my "salad bar". This may not be waht others are looking for and may need discussion.

From my own point of view, I was pleased with how the "Cold War Cook Off" went, so I would offer that as a example of houw you may want to run this campaign. There are enough competitions, I just like to "show off" over the internet. I know, not very american of me!

PM,
I'm with you and Jacques on this one, keep it simple and not too scary. It's my first time too. I think everyone who joins in should get a campaign ribbon, but as far as compitition I don't need that. I think you're doing a great job of promoting the site to some of the "lurkers" out there, with the monthly meeting and this campaign idea. We're with ya buddy.

Do something like a small pair of airborne assault wings for this campaign instead of a ribbon. That would be really neat.

hey phantom, i think you should let the campaing begin after the wings over water because the generals around are right. too many similar campaings at a time. so when the "wings" campaing ends we can start.

Hey vlad, thanks for the head up on the Italeri kit . Let me see !

And BTW, I'd prefer a nice medal to a ribbon. Let me see if I can knock up something in Photoshop...

Cheers,
BP.

I will have to put my card in about the date then PM. I agree with the others that this will have to wait a few until some of the earlier campaigns finish. I for one am going to be building for two campaigns within a 3 month period. I dont think a third would help lol.

Well for me personally I am involved with the Wings over Water Campaign as well....and was thinking of doing a couple for it....a F-14 bomber, and a Helo of some sort....most likely a Seahawk, but I may save the Seahawk for the Helo campaign, and possibly my AH-1W...just depends.....in any case.....yes the end date of the WoW and the start date of the Helo one overlap....but only by a month or so....as I believe the end date on the WoW is Dec 15, but it starts Sept 1.....and the DfA one starts Nov 1 and ends March 1.....I for one don't really see much in the way of conflict....yes they over lap...but not by much, and there is lots of time on either end...2 months on the WoW and 2 1/2 months on DfA.....how much time do some of you need?
Either way I will be happy....either postpone DfA till Jan 1 and have it run till May 1? seems like a long(er) time away and some people may loose interest if put off that long....heck Nov is a while off!!

Like I said....either way...makes no difference to me!!

OK two points i am picking up here one; the start date, so far only two peole have said they would prefer it to be later due too other campaign commitments, well unles there is a major snag or more people complain the dates will stay the same. I realise that this conflicts with other peoples campaigns but and this is a big but! this is going to be a simple campaign aimed at first timers and people who are new too the site, i can not state this enough, if this campaign doesn't supply what you are looking for, then i apologise but the idea is to promote the whole concept of joining a campaign, hence why i have few rules, this gives first-timers a chance to get used to the idea rather than jumping in the deep end and trying to do PE, Aftermarket Accessories and all of the higher level stuff.

The other point is regarding the campaign medal/ribbon/award what ever you want to call it, well i quite like the U.S. army's helicopter wings badge, a little Huey sitting face on with wings each side of it, i can't remember its proper name but i think Zach described the badge i mean. However if you have any other ideas out there people tell us or show us even !

Phantom Major - thanks for stating the goals and ideas around this campaign idea.

Phantom_Major - it is notnecessary to send a PM to me and reprint the same thing in a Forum message. I consider that bad Forum etiquette.

Did I miss the Awards portion of this campaign?

Hi Phantom

Having said in the first place that I was looking forward to this campaign, I somehow managed to miss this entire thread! :-)

Anyway, count me in! :-) I'll be doing something really early, a Flettner or the like... I'm sure I've said that before somewhere... obviously not in this thread! :-)

All the best

Count me in!!! I have a 1/72 SH-60B that I have only finished the interior. I am new at this campaign thing so let me know if this will be allowed for entry. I have been out of modeling for a while(marriage, kids x 3, job). It seems that by reading alot of your threads you guys know personally what I am talking about. This will give me the motivation to get off my @## and finish this model. See ya in november.

Question:

There will be no more approved Campaigns for 2003. Do you want to start this activity sometime between now and the end of 2003 as a Group Build? Or, do you want the Campaign Committee to consider this for a 2004 Campaign? I say "consider" because there is no guarantee that it will be elevated to campaign status. I can't tell which you all would rather see happen.

Group Builds have greater flexibility and longer times to model. Campaigns are more of a rigid structure...
