hi andy, it is a good ribbon, but you shouldn't be complimenting me, you should be complimenting darren and jeremy, they did all the work.

Hi Guys,
Now that i am finished over in Killer KV's I started on my Mini Art Dingo Yesterday
This is my 1st Mini Art kit that is not a building and has a lot of detail to it. This section alone contained 31 parts
I am still trying to grasp the advantage of this PE that is so small that you cant even see it with the naked eye or is smaller then the drop of glue
Started on the chassis as well what Tamiya would have made 1 piece this kit has 3 pieces This will not be a speed build thats for sure

Tim You did start 5 day ago and You have the first paint on ? What the ? And You even did some PE and wire on it ? Its a 1/35 Armour FTLOG, Even if it is Tamiya You HAVE TO spend at leas a month with it! I feel like a total looser right now. Seriously, it looks great.
Lol, I wouldn't sweat it too much. There are a few guys on here that build like a plastic tsunami hit, and they're all top notch builders to boot. It takes me a pretty darn long time to get anything done in any scale, and I just keep pushing forward to see how far I can get
Sal: That is a sweet choice! I've been looking at those little Dingos for a while now, and am looking forward to seeing the rest of your build. MiniArt kits are pretty kick arse
I'm going to take a couple of Tamiya Chally II's over to a friend's this week or next and see if I can't help motivate him a little to get into 1/35 armour and join this campaign. I'm going to try the GW textured paint for the anti-slip, which may be the boost he needs to feel confident that he can do cool things even with a base kit

Sal has gotten the PE fever. Give him some plastic and brass and he turns into a building monster I want your kts when SWMBO comes down stairs to see what you are doing with all of your spare time

I just posted a few weeks ago, I started over a month ago. I wish I could build that quick.
Painting work. I tried pre-shading, then light coats of Tamiya OD with some buff, then added white and sprayed the insides the panels. I am really happy about how this looks.
I am putting on decals, which are taking a while. The stars on the turret are taking a lot of setting solution to conform correctly.

This is how my Challenger 2 looks.
As can be seen I had a little accident with the thinner.

What a stunning little model for its age!
The only filler I used was on the top of the sponsons where they were cut from the sprue.
The only let down are the rubber band tracks the flash is a real to remove
I found it easier to fix the tracks with cyano and trim the flash when set
before
and after
I'm not going to paint this based on a real vehicle, but add a splash of colour with the white red white bands at the front

Ok time for weekly update, here is what my Dingo is looking like today plus 2 pieces that i added this afternoon. Was too tired to concentrate on it after a long weekend so I switched to something less taxing
Small pieces and difficult to follow directions do not mix well with exhaustion and beer I actually lost 1 of those small strut nuts in my glue tube
But I'll be back at it tomorrow after a good nights sleep

It is looking good so far Sal, but may I recommend less beer when you hold the glue bottle. You may mistake the bottles and from experinace the glue does not taste very good

I made some progress, but because of another built on Aeroscale, this one had less attention. Nothing interesting to report, usual Tamiya quality.

Hi Guys update time. I was pretty high on this kit when I received it and started to build it but now that most of the build is completed I would not recommend it.
Poor instructions, pieces too small to notice if they were missing, PE too soft, and I believe that it is out of scale a bit on the small side Has anybody eles that built this or other Mini-Art kits found these problems?
Build for the most part is complete now and this wash shot with some primer this morning. More updates soon

Sal: Sorry to hear that you have been having a hard time with that kit. MiniArt is very well thought of, and have won many awards for their allied kits including the Dingo line.

It's not that I'm having that hard of a time with it, just some things that I don't care for about it. I have built other Mini Art building, that I have liked, but this is my 1st vehicle kit by them. I don't know anything about what awards that they have won but I will consider them #2 on my list of what not to buy

The Dingo seems to me to be way to small for the engineering approach that they took with it, which is why I have held off on buying one until I have a more refined skill set. It may be beneficial for you to try out one of their Valentine's and see if that changes your opinion of the company's vehicle kits. Just a thought

Not a bad idea, Bob built 1 earlier in this tread and didn't seem to have a problem with it and I was interested in that vehicle

Give it a shot Sal, I have a couple of them and they look like they'll be a joy to build
Your Dingo is coming out very nicely despite the complications you've experienced.

@ Sal : You did a good job with the Dingo. Im looking forward to see it finished.
The Croco is almoust completed, now it s time to start on the trailer. The kit is showing its age. Most details are not as good as they should be. Even with a lot of work it cant be made into what the AFV Club Churchill is, so I decided to make a different aproach. I will put all boxes, field equipment and stuff I can find in my stashon it, to hide the poor details.

Hello,
I have just enlisted in this campaign and would like to clarify some thing before i decide on what i will build,
Does the title `British Armour Campaign` mean just British designed and built armour or British used armour eg .. Sherman also.
Sorry to be so pedantic, but i personally don`t count the Sherman as British armour but as American armour.
Malcolm

Sal, I have to say that for all of the misgivings you've had about that little kit, it really turned out great!

I believe it is Armour used by the British.

Hey Everybody,
Figured I'd check in to let y'all know I'm actually planning to build something.
It was going to be the old Tamiya Dingo with the 3 1/2 lbs. of Eduard PE it takes to turn that blob into a recognizable shape. Then I saw Sals' Miniart one and decided against. Nice job Sal and nice kit too. Need to sell mine on evilbay.
Then I was definitely going to do the Tamiya Cromwell. When I saw Tims' with the deck handles, I thought, naaa, Don't want to mess with it. Tim, that is one fine piece of art!
So, The Emhar Mk. IV Female is going to be my entry. I also picked up some aftermarket tracks for it years ago. Now, all I have to do is find everything. A definite sign of TMS disease (Too Much Stuff or another, more appropriate word starting with an S).
