Hello,
I have just enlisted in this campaign and would like to clarify some thing before i decide on what i will build,
Does the title `British Armour Campaign` mean just British designed and built armour or British used armour eg .. Sherman also.
Sorry to be so pedantic, but i personally don`t count the Sherman as British armour but as American armour.
Malcolm
I believe it is Armour used by the British.

@ Sal: The Dingo looks fine, nice little thing.
Mine Coco is finally together, I airbrushed the base colour today. As I wrote earlier, I will put a lo of bagage on this one, to hide some poor details.

Your Crocodile is looking real nice Naseby, I'd hate to be anywhere near one of those things for a variety of reasons

Naseby, nice work on the Croc what color is that?
Got some progress on the Dingo added a black wash
Then I decided to steal a page from Randy's play book and use a jar top as a base
The German trooper will be investigating the abandoned, burnt out Dingo so i burnt the rear area
then added some crushed pastels and some additional weathering
I'm gonna blacken up the rust area a bit more to come

Thanks, Im happy You like it. Sal the Dingo is more alive now, with the weathering. As for the colour, its the Tamiya "Deep Green" out of the bottle, nothing special, I use it for most british armour (not that I have a lot of it, only 2-3 pieces). I made som pregress on Monday and Yesterday. The shadows are made with Flat Black and Yellow.
On another note, I have a TV on my workbench which Im used to turn on when building something and as it is righ now, There are mainly news from Japan all the week. Its depressing to watch the pictures and having a variety of Tamiya and Hasegawa stuff all around, so I turned the speed a little bit down now with the Croco and I read books insted. Maybe in a few days, I will bee in the mood for it again.

@Naseby, nice job on the shadows, I hope some day to be able to do that with my airbrush
Here is my Dingo progress battle damage added and base painted with craft store acrylics
the desert grass is un-twined rope glued at the end and painted
after using the crushed pastels i did some dry brushing with some metallic bronze
now i just have to finish the figure that will be checking out the damaged vehicle and take some better photos that are not so bright

I used Tamiya's Olive Drab, with some Buff and Flat Earth mixed in. I then used a lot of Burnt Umber and some Red on the dot filtering. This really gave it the darker brown look.
I have seen photos of a lighter green shade on British armor during the war, but I went a litter darker and will darken it some more with pastels.

Beautiful build, Naseby. The overall weathering and shading of the basecolour looks great.

Well, you beat me to it Sal. I didn't think anyone else would build a Dingo, but I was wrong..
Mine is a bit different though and here is a progress shot..
As you can see it was released by Maquette and has been in my stash for many moons. The other thing that is different is that it is my first full resin model. No interior or anything but the shape seems pretty good from the photos I have seen.
Took a bit of extra work and un-glueing supa-glued items as there are no locating lugs for things like fenders and it was a bit of trial and error in some places. But as you can see she is ready for a nice coat of green... that is all it says in the instructions.. just green.. no references or anything else for a number in a paint manufacturers range.. I will be painting it the same as my Churchill Crocodile from a few years ago. I think it was Brunswick Green or something like that..
Keep up the great work everyone.

Thanks for Your comments.
@Sal: The Fifty and the other stuff is there because I needed to make the model a bit more interesting. As it was, the detail were poor and I left the hatches closed, so I neede something to add to it. I know the Fifty is US as are some boxes and cans, but I seen it been used by the Brits as well. At the moment there are two more boxes on the back and two more are coming, and Im also considering adding a US Infantry flamethrower. There are also a lot of boxes on the trailor.
@Warreni: Im looking forward to see the Dingo finished.

Very sorry that I haven't been talking as much as I had hoped, but my uncle has been in hospital for the last couple of weeks with a virus on his brain, so I haven't really been thinking about this.
I am almost finished with my panzer IV for the next generation campaign so I will be getting on with my Sherman as soon as I finish.

Hmmm.. I am going no further with my little Dingo as I have made a SLIGHT error which I cannot really correct now as it would lead to breakage of delicate resin pieces. SO no weathering or mud etc on this little kit. I will have to find another one somewhere and build it again correcting the mistake I made..
I am going to blame the incredibly vague instructions for the mistake..
But for the record it is a Maquette 1/35 Daimler Dingo in resin.
I have a funny feeling it may take a while to find a new one....

Hi Warren,
From here it's hard to see your error - what exactly is it? It looks pretty good so I'd still go ahead and finish it if I was you...

Thanks Tom.
Ok.. I will go with your idea, especially when I just had a look at a hobby shop and saw that the same kit was $112!!!! Think I can do without it especially when I got mine for about $7...
Back to the bench for some weathering then.

Warren,
Your Dingo looks good. I made some errors on my Miniart Dingo as well but I also chalked it up to poor instructions. I don't see it so I would continue if I were you

OK.. Sal and Tom you win.. Here is the finished one then. It is amazing how vague the instructions were with the Maquette Dingo.. Oh well..
This Dingo was captured by the Germans and put to use as a Police vehicle I would say..
In case you can't see the problem, the back mudguards are on backwards.. It looks like it is supposed to be like that, but I was looking at a photo of one looking at where the mud was splashed up on the actual vehicle and I spotted my mistake. I would have fixed it but the items are all CA glued in numerous spots including the suspension units. Trying to get thin resin bits off would have been disasterous so my Dingo can stay that way.. and at $112 for the kit I can do without another resin one. If I find a cheap Miniart one I will get that.
24 Campaigns finished this year and counting..
