Hi all,
Some really nice work going on here! Bob, that Valentine came together quick, and seemingly without a fight - I might just have to build the one in my stash...
Andy, that scratch-built hull is great! Can't wait to see the rest of the build.
As for me, I'm neck-deep in a bunch of other campaign builds at the moment, so it may be a month or two before I get started on mine.

Andy, very imperssive. How about some more photos of the process, it may help me with another build.

Bob, that Valentine is looking good I did the same thing on my Tiger tracks but your look fine. I like the look of that tank as well. What type of paint scheme are you gonna go with?

Sal, thanks for the kind words, as to the paint scheme I do not know enough regarding this tanks history. The box top has a poor painting of a two color scheme but, I need a little help from those here in the know to show me what colors I should attempt. And did the vehicle in the desert have dust fenders installed.

Bob: I'm impressed that the kit came together that well for you, well done mate I know there is a site out there addressing Valentines, but I don't remember it having colored pics... If I get a chance I'll try to look it up for you and see if it would be of any use.
Andy: Nice job on the scratchbuilding! Can't wait to see more

Hi all!
Thank You guys for the positive feedback!
Bob:I regret it but unfortunately I didn't take any pictures about every step of the building. I promise I will take more pictures and I will post them. I hope I can help.
Thanks
Andy

Here is my progress so far with the Trumpeter Challenger 2 Enhanced Armour. So far no major issues have been hit that a little filler could not cure.

I can't believe I overlooked this as I have this kit in my stash But I believe this would be of help to you regarding both of your queries:

If so I can provide the information for the color code used by Miniart.
Darren: Looks like it's coming along nicely! are the panels hanging from the rear an anti-rpg screen of some type?

Jeremy, I would appreciate those color codes that you mention. They would help me greatly, I have been putting small dots of the paints that are in my supply and marking them then matching them to the tank and trying to decide which would be closest to British Middlestone and Sand.

Very good then....
Code 8: Sand
Vallejo 977
Tamiya XF59
Code 9: Military Brown
Vallejo 984
Tamiya XF10
The rest of the colors should be your basic metal/wood/rubber

Jeremy that is the bar armour provided with the kit and is designed to beat RPG rounds. I will be using the dozer blade for this build and which is included in the kit as I have a picture of one in this configuration in Iraq.

Here's what I will be building
I'm in the middle of a few campaigns atm, so it might be a little bit before I get started in earnest.

Axel), nice choice I just love the looks of that tank and its camo. Will you be using blue tack to mask off the colors?

Bob: Sure thing bud, just keep in mind that I think those camo schemes may be rather unique for British armor at the time.
Darren: Very good then, I figured as much but I don't think that I have seen them on Chally's before. I need to look around some more and see if I can get one of those kits at a good price over here.
Stan: I don't know, but that is a cool looking kit, so either way you have a winner
Axel: Nice choice! I have been eyeing that kit for a while, and I too like the color scheme.

Stanley: Not sure if it is full interior. I'll have to check when I get home. Almost hope it isn't; I'm still learning how to do the exterior

Bob: Since the Caunter Scheme I'm going to attempt on this tank has mostly straight lines, I'll just use tape. I'm going to use Silly Putty (same concept as blutak) on my spitfire build, as the Camo on that is an irregular pattern.
I've done a little reading about the Caunter scheme, and from what I gather the colors on the box are way off from reality. My understanding is that the actual colors are close to light stone, 'Slate Grey', and 'Grey Green' (the last, conveniently, being close to the 'Sky' on the bottom of my MkI spitfire).
Information on this scheme is not plentiful, pictures are rare, and color pictures are non-existent; so if anyone has some good info, I'd be glad to hear it.
As noted before, it will probably be a little while before I get started as I have several campaigns in the work. The upside is that I have plenty of time to find good info on the Caunter scheme.

Applied the base coat (XF60) and this is about 3 coats, looks like it will take another three. Still undicided on the final camo I will need to aquire some blutack to do the demarcation lines if I go with the two or three color shceme but, there are some delicate parts that I am trying to figure out how to avoid. OOPS! just broke the mirror off..

Looks good, I like the color choice. I agree those mirrors are really delicate. I have seen some guys make pockets with the bluetack around the delicate bits and it has seemed to work out well for them.
