Great finish there Naseby, it looks fantastic. I have seen some photo where the crew has draped a tarp over the back I would assume to try and keep warm

Oddly enough, today was the first time I was in this thread. Don´t know how I missed it. Thanks Gary K for alerting me to it. Some really nice builds going on.
Congrats Paddy on the Pbv scratchbuild. Excellent build. And a big thank you for taking one for the boys ... as they say. Hobby Fan have 2 Pbv 302 variants now available (or soon to be) if somebody wants one, without going all out and scratching one!

After a slight hiatus I can continue with my Nordic Saga. In keeping with the campaign theme I needed a winter scheme.Being a Swedish AFV this should indeed be simple but I decided to be different.
This is HA (Hotel Alpha) of the 1st platoon,6th Co,. I1 HM the King of Sweden's Lifeguard. The vehicle is named ,by traditiion, HAWK using the 1st letters of its callsign.
On the rear right-hand door you can see the Royal monograph Carl Gustav XVI.
They are an urban warfare company tasked with defending Stockholm and use a concrete grey colour instead of the usual white.
I can see now that it looks brown in this light but it is I promise dark green.
if any of our bretheren from the Dark Side of his hobby tell you painting/masking a Swedish aircraft is hard tell'em to try an APC.
After three goes at this It has reached acceptable and I am happy to start marking and weathering.

WOW nice work guys, Paddy I get a cold shiver just thinking about that masking job! it should look fantastic once you have it completed I am looking forward to seeing it.

My Winter Worriers are finally in their setting place ready to attack a KV in the Urban Warfare campaign
It feels good to talk about winter with the near 100 degree temps here in NY
Being that its hard to see the front of them here are some close ups
I use some spray adhesive that made it look like they had some ice and water forming on their uniforms
Great Campaign now I have to find a photo to post in the Gallery

Looks good so far, Mecanix. It will be interesting to see how the final scheme comes out.
Nice layout of the scene, Sal. However, you kit your figures with the glue as well - or was that intentional?

I still have not decided what to build for this campaign, but I will find out soon.

Thanks Jasper, no it wasn't intentional but I think it makes them look like that ice and wetness is forming on the uniforms, so I left it on

This is the result of the third try at masking/Painting and as I want to move on to other outstanding campaigns this is end of the Saga and ready for markings and weathering.
Because I wanted that "sprayed on by two conscripts with a stencil and an aerosol on a wet,cold Monday"look and also because I am awkward by nature I asked Mal Mayfield of Miracle Paint Masks to produce some.To his credit and despite the fact that he had never done armour before he gave it a try and rewriting his instructions for armour, he produced enough to allow me to make more than my share of mistakes.
Then followed a litle light weathering, these are Lifeguards and I will call it finished.
Thanks to Thord Wedman (the_Swede) and Robin Horlin (robaatssk) who for a while was co-owner, together with HM the King of Sweden, of Hotel Alpha, for their help.

Here is my entry for the campaign. It's trumpeter's KV-II. I'm going to try my hand at the Hairspray method of Winter Camo and I'm also going to upgrade a couple of Trumpeter's Russian Infantry in Winter Camo

Well here it is with the Snow camo added the figures are soviet winter scouts from TANK- they still have to be painted and the ground work added

Well, I got a start on my T-34 over the weekend. I usually do not dapple in armor, let alone whitewashes, so definate step outside of the comfort zone! But, that is the fun part of this right? Here are a couple pics, it was primed with Tamiya Nato Black, then spots pulled out with white, and then painted over using lifecolor dark green.

So I must say, I am bored with xbox... until all the stuff I preordered comes out. Which means I have been spending extra time in my mancave. I considered trying the hairspray method, but I really hate rattle cans so I opted to just do the whitewash delicately with the airbrush. I have never used artist oils on a tank, and only used them as a method of a panel wash on aircraft, so this was a learning experiance. I tried not to over do it, and just make the rust and grime streaking as subtle as I could. Without further adieu, here is my entry.

Campaign Bail Out
I know that this isn’t the usual campaign post, never the less I feel compounded to let you all know the reason I’m bailing out of this campaign. Of late I have been finding building to a deadline soul destroying in as much as I have begun cutting corners, building very quickly, and making a right hash of the project I happen to be building. The bottom line is I have no longer been enjoying the hobby, and in all honesty it is a hobby and should be enjoyed as such, and it shouldn’t be seen as a chore, and that’s how I feel it’s become, a chore. So I’m going to go back to building whatever I like, at my own pace. Enjoy the rest of the campaign, and I’m sure I’ll see you all on a campaign in the future.
