This is my first vignette for this campaign, German ski troop struggling against the snow and cold. I want to add a dog to the scene, but I don’t know where I can find one, does anyone know which company makes them?
The boxes in the back ground are the sets I will be using.

This is my progress, I got to paint two of the heads and used putty to fill in some of the gaps (but I have problems with the putty). Almost done with my first figure.





Advice on the figure would be appreciated!

Figures are looking great the only advice that a novices like myself could give is not to forget to add some mud and scruff marks to those snow white uniforms

great work everyone, Vlad i replied to your question. if you need any more info don't hesitate to ask. white uniforms are by far the hardest task as any flaws pop out on the stark clothing. keep it rolling buddy. cheers, bd.

I decided to save some time and cut a few corners so, instead of building the PvB's 20mm turret I decided to approach Matthias Roth of MR Modellbau who make an M113 upgrade kit to produce a Swiss 1/35th Schuetzenpanzer 63/89 with includes such a turret. This he did cheaply and swiftly.

some of the parts go straight into the spares box but the rest provide a sound basis for building the original Swedish version. However when I checked it against a set of turret drawings from the Swedish Armour Museum it came out slightly short and the slope of the turret on the right-hand side appeared a little shallow.

This was easily fixed by fitting a slightly oval card base plate of the right thickness to raise the height and by wrapping a thin piece of card around the turret side and the edge of the new base and trimming to fit.
Then it was a matter of re-fitting the Swedish parts, replacing the iron ring sight with the new type, replacing lift rings with brass,adding weld seams and smoke dispensers and changing the resin 20mm barrel to brass tube.



My final fix list is now down to 5 items so I think I can call it finished-ish.
Now for the masking

Hi Fellow Winter Warriors (well pretend anyway)

Here is my finished T-34/76 Stalingrad in 1/35. I tried to simulate the finish as it could have looked in the mud of late winter with most of the whitewash worn off by the effects of the weather.




Oops.. I just noticed I didn't paint the rims of the road wheels. Will have to go and do that later.

I tried for something a bit different with the T-34 and I think I achieved my aim.

Bruce d, it would have been hell fighting on the Eastern Front yet you don't hear of ex German soldiers screaming for compensation from the state. You appear to have made the figure look extremely cold with the grey colouring for the skin and the apparent frost on the helmet.

Tracks need sorting and adjusting but as far as the build goes I will call that finished.
