Hmm... already signed up for so many campaigns, never be able to finish them all... then again, is a good excuse to finally build that panzer 1 ausf B DAK version with fitting vignette base from Mig Productions... dilemma dilemma dilemma...

The the Pz II Ausf. F (added armour) was sent the same time
Do you know if any of the early F's with the twin machine guns in the turret made it to Africa or were they all retrofitted with the single gun and thicker armour by then? I have a Daragon PzIII F and would love to DAK it up but cannot find a single reference photo. I am guessing they were all reconfigured by the time they went to Libya but keeping my fingers crossed I am wrong!
I have not seen any photos of Pz III E or F, but there were some delivered early, probably in the initial shipment of 5th Light (3rd Pz Div) vehicles in February 1941..

All enlisted, just need to decide on what to build, I'm sure there's something in the stash that fits the bill.
When I got into modelling about 16/17 years ago it was Afrika Korps vehicles that I started with, got a few books on the subject, I'll have to dig them out.

Thanks to Zaltar for fantastic work on the banner and ribbon!
Really looking forward to kicking this campaign off. Time to go and buy a few more DAK reference books and another excuse to re-read Killing Rommel, a great story by Steven Pressfield. well worth a read if you want a good book for non-modelling time.

I agree on both counts here. Zalter did a great job with the banner and ribbon and Killing Rommel was an excellent book and a very quick read

Aloha,
I will join this campaign. I think I will build a Sd 222 or similar, probably in 1/48th, so I have reason to finish my Grief and make a small scene...
Looking forward to this campaign and really like the context.

I'm in as well. Would the Hermann Goering Division fall into this as well since they also fought in Tunsia along side DAK. Just trying to figure out what to build.

Don't know if that would qualify here but it would in the Blitz 3 Campaign

Thanks Sal,
I wasn't sure if the division would work for this campaign, but I do have a panzer iii and sdkfz251 that would fit the bill just right.

I think that the HG was under Rommel's overall command so yes it should fit straight in.

I am doing a HG Flak 88 for this campaign but unless somebody can tell me otherwise I see no reason why the Afrika HG forces would not count for this campaign too.

That's a sweet little panzer, and Tahk makes a great figure that matches the box art to a "T"
I'm still torn on what I'm going build. I have both a Panzer III Ausf. E and a Panzer IV Ausf. E that would fit the bill nicely...

Hi all,
Because of different reasons I was forced to change my callsign, so I thought its easier to register new....
As I am actually in my "Italian phase" of den North African campaign with finalizing a repair scenery of an AB41,with fully scratch build interiour, I would like to share this campaign with a M13/40 "carro comando", based on Italeri/Zwedzda components and some scratch for the interiour.
Best regards,
Erich

Hi Gents
not long to go before this kicks off.
I am having some trouble fitting modelling into my life at the moment with a new job that involves a lot of travel, moving house and a new baby on the way.
I think it is unrealistic for me to be the campaign leader on this and I fear I may struggle to complete 1 model in the next 12 months let alone manage this thread.
I will get in touch with the admins but if anybody here is interested in taking over running this campaign I would be very grateful if you would take over.
Thanks
Noel

If you truly need someone to take over the campaign for you, then I would be happy to help you out there. However, may I suggest that instead of turning over the campaign just yet, why don't you try appointing a campaign deputy that can step in and fill your shoes when you are unable to tend to the modeling world. I would be happy to help you out either way

I will respect Noel's evaluation of his life and accept his resignation. I'm sure he probably needs to concentrate on Real Life. I wish him the best and appreciate the heads-up he gave me.
I will anoint Jeremy as the new campaign leader. Thanks for stepping up to the plate!
