Ron: Very cool

Zon: Sweet, look forward to seeing some weathering!

Tim: One build is all that you need to complete this campaign bud. Would love to see more of your work if you do get the chance to work on another build for this campaign though

Neal: Great progress, keep it coming! Those axles look the part with the rusting you did

looks real good Neal, perhaps you will do it,but you could tone down the rust on and around the exhausta with some black soot, but that underside looks good.

Jeremy, Thanks!

The camera flash makes it stand out more than it actually is in person....however, I am planning to weather some more when I do the hull and turret weathering...and rust the muffler panels as well.

Moving forward, Mason, my 10 year old, contributed a "bottom" to the half crew-man so I could make the crew man hang out the back doors, looking like he was hanging on the top (open) crew door.

I took the advice and darkened the rust work and used different angles on the fluorescent lighting (in my shop) and turned the flash off to get a more accurate appearance. I'm pretty much uneducated on photography, as I leave that up to the pros,...but am trying to use the family camera to take the pics posting in here. Any tips would be very welcome:)

Neal, a blue background will really help you out. The white makes it really difficult for camera to properly adjust, regardless of how light or dark the object being photographed is. There is also no substitute for natural sunlight, so if you can take your photos outside on a sunny day that will help. Check out my review on the VK.45.02(P)H, I shot the first batch of photos on white and the second batch on blue, both in natural sunlight.

Nice work, looks like you're almost finished

Thanks for the input! I'll pick up a blue background when I get to town.

I was able to get some blue construction paper quickly, so here's the 232 while testing the blue background waters...wow! What an improvement!

Yes, much better! Make sure that you don't get to close to the model when you are photographing it

Hi all,

As I have had (and still have) tremendous stress in real life job, I am very slow with my 2nd campaign build of my DRAGON PanzerIII Ausf. F "Smart-Kit", converted in an Ausf.G.
But even slow progress comes one time to something...
So this is my actual build status:

Note: The spare wheels, as even some tools, are not yet glued, to make paint easier.
I will fit in total 3 spare wheels. 2 left and 1 right. The antenna is only dry fitted for the photo, I hope to avoid in that case "Murhpy´s law". Even the jerrycans and the additional track-links on the front are only dry-fitted and removable.
All glue-seams has to be cleaned.
So next is build of the tracks, a tow rope and start of paint.......

Erich;

Nice progress on the Pz III"F". I have the same kit and I'm thinking about converting it to a "G" also. I'm looking for the 5cm gun and correct manlet parts, could you enlighten me on what you are using. I have been playing around with the ideal of dipicting a Pz III F converted to a G right off the boat in Tripoli in February 1941, panzer grey, 3rd Pz Div markings, crew in black and all. Any help would be appreciated.

One of these days I will finish the Pz IV F and post the pictures, need to primer left side tracks, paint and install tracks, finish weathering and base.

Neal: Nice work on the 232.

Ron: The Greif is looking good, like the base. What brand was it?

Thanks Ralph!

Here are a few of where it's at now...

I am learning a lot about photography that's for sure! the sunlight has a huge impact on the overall tint of the model. I also know I've got to get a better camera that doesn't fuzz out when doing close ups....

Neal what we see is looking pretty darn good.

What camera are you using? I ask because most, but not all, have a "macro" setting to photograph up close. My camera has a flower symbol for the macro setting.

True dat on natural sunlight!

Erich I'm loving that PzIII! My favorite tank in my all time favoritee theatre to model.

Erich: Nice job on the Panzer III, I really dig the barrel

Neal: Ditto what G said. If you don't have a macro setting, then try not to zoom in so close and see if you can crop the photo on your computer instead.
