Damon: Your scratching is lookiing good.
I've been making small progress, but not enough to make a photo worth while. Hopefully this weekend I can catch up to Sal's first photo on this page

Didgeboy: you look like you are doing the Esci kit real justice. With that much scratchbuilding, you should definitely super detail it.
On a side note, my selection has changed. I found a full resin BTR-80 command version for $25. I will order it Monday.

Hi Folks,
Just enlisted as I have just finished the Braille Battlefield campaign and can now join another. I am not sure what I will be doing yet, as I have several command options, however it will be in Braille scale. Look forward to joining in.
All the best,
Paul

Quick update. Got the superstructure on today along with about 90% of the detail on it. Made some scratch details, they are nothing fantastic but still an improvement on the kit supplied parts. Have to say today was the best day back in the hobby since I was in my teens, seriously. My stuff may not be that great but it sure feels good. Cheers to all of you and hope your weekend was as good as mine. Enjoy.

Didgeboy, that's great news all around. Really glad to hear it.
(Oh, but as for me, I still haven't bought my kit for this one-- birthday and fathers' day should provide something though. )

ok here is my progress, i rummaged through the spare parts box to come up with some decals
I then painted the tools and used a mix of metallic bronze and burnt orange to paint the muffler
I then finished up the Magic Tracks that I found out were not too magical a light tan wash was added to the whole tank to better blend in the white with the gray
and then some black wash into the seams next I'm gonna add the antennas and try to take some picture in some natural light. Please comments are more then welcome to help me improve

Damon: Looks good. Those kits were set up in a way that you can position the front wheels for steering when you build the front section. Looking forward to seeing those antennae, always looked good on LAVs and Strykers.
Sal: Nice job on getting those decals to snug down on the sides of the turret!

Looks good Sal. The exhaust looks more copper than rust. Excellent paint and weathering. I hear you on the atennae. I always use piano wire or the length of wire from some pe upgrades.

Hi Everyone,
Some nice work going on in this campaign, congratulations to all those who have posted.
I have been through my stash and come up with the following two (for now) choices:
1) A SdKfz 250/2 command vehicle
2) A SdKfz 263 command vehicle
The 250/2 will probably involve some scratch building for the interior, as the Esci/Italeri one is virtually none existent. It will probably be done in either Western Desert or Eastern Front camo, I haven't decided yet. The 263 will be a OOB build for my wargames army and will be Early War Panzer grey.
I look forward to joining in the fun and will post the progress as soon as I have made some.
All the best,
Paul

Took several in progress shots of my Horscht. Almost done with the painting. Will post later today, once I finish the undercarriage.

Here's the rundown on my Horscht command car.
Step 1 Body and Interior
Step 2 Body and Interior
Step 3 Primer
Step 4 Base Coat
Step 5 Top Coat
Step 6 Beginning the Undercarriage
Step 7 Finishing Undercarriage
The entire undercarriage was in one step per instructions
Step 8 Attaching Undercarriage to Body
As soon as I get my airbrush back up and working, I'll finish painting the undercarriage and start weathering. This kit was a steal at $10, but I would suggest paying to difference for the Tamiya kit. Some vary obscure assembly instructions left me guessing on some of the parts placement.

Nice work on the Horch there.
I think the Tamyia version is a little different but I agree the Italeri instructions aren't easy.. slightly better than Dragon's.
You could add some Mr.Surfacer on those seats to get some better texture, Itakeri seats usually suck...

This kit is a exception to the rule as far as seats go. I'm just looking for some color reference photos to finish off the interior. And the instructions, fairly simple till you get to the undercarriage. Then, you have five sub-assemblies. Average 4 pieces per assembly and all in one step. Not to mention the control arms.

I should be working on an entry for my own Midway campaign, but I'd really like to build an AFV and I'm clearly not going to finish a Sherman for the Sherman campaign (which ends this week), so...
To be sure I get this, allow me to ask. I have an M3 Grant I was planning to do as Monty's Grant and an M3 halftrack I'm going to do as Col. Motta Gur's (commander 55th paratroop brigade, took the Temple Mount) command vehicle during the battle for Jerusalem in 1967. Would either of these fit this theme?
