Those are very cool reference pictures you have there Harv, I can see why you were inspired to take on such a project! It's going to be great to see those old school kits being built up and placed in a diorama. I submitted the campaign form, and if all goes well then it will be perfect for accommodating in depth projects like yours, which is what I am really hoping for

Aloha All,
Harv: cool weasel. I'd never seen one of those.
I'm in on this one. Either I'll get the PBR out of the stash, or something else entirely. Maybe an M113, no wait, artillery, no, a Huey, wait, maybe a...
Great campaign idea Jeremy!

Welcome Zon, and thanks!
You should check out those M29 Weasels sometime, they are very cool. I keep hoping that a new-tooling kit will come out someday (hint-hint Dragon!)
You can't have enough PBR's for this campaign, and and M113 or a huey would be great too! And nobody has suggested an artillery build yet, which could have huge diorama potential

Just fyi, I've set up a spreadsheet to keep track of everyone and their projects and will be updating it at least once a week, and more often once the campaign kicks off

I'm enlisted, number 10 !
Good idea with the spreadsheet too Jeremy, that's what I do and keep it updated as the first post in my official campaign threads. A combo Roll Call, build registry and status board all in one neat package.
Most excellent idea for a Campaign, should be awesome !
Cheers, D

Lucky 10! Thanks Damian, I've been watching your campaigns and a few of the other regular campaign leaders to picks up some tips
There's a lot of great subject matter available for this campaign so I'm hoping you're right, I know I'm looking forward to it, and I can't wait to see some of the dioramas that you guys have planned here

For a subject, pencil me in for an OV-10A Bronco. I don't own the kit yet, but that's probably my favorite Vietnam War aircraft, and as a forward observer and ground assault, it sort of ties the AFV and aircraft of this campaign together. As we get closer to August, I'll finalize a plan-- likely now the Academy 1/72 kit, either OOB or modified depending on whether I find cool pictures by then.
thanks,
Sean.

Done! And good choice btw, I've always liked those aircraft. I picked up a 1/48 Testors/Italeri kit myself, but I think the 1/72 Academy kit is by far the better of the two

I've just enlisted, and the idea of starting at the beginning of August sounds good. I am an avid Vietnam modeller, and my plan for this campaign will be a diorama of an M551 Sheridan (Academy) and M113 ACAV (unsure whether Academy or Tamiya) passing through a Vietnamese village (huts to be scratched)....... looking forward to this one

Awesome! I've been waiting for someone to bring a Sheridan to this campaign, it's such an iconic tank for this era. Looking forward to seeing your diorama come together when the campaign kicks off

Awesome! Would you be thinking about an AFV, or maybe you are considering some kind of aircraft? When I get to thinking about it, it seams that there are almost way too many possibilities

Simple Idea popped in my head, so I thought I'd make it and see what it looked like.

Cool, I like it. It looks nice.
One of these days I am going to have to learn how to make ribbons and banners.
Thanks,

Axel: Those colors are harsh, but I think it looks overall appropriate. An idea may be to split the the Republic of Vietnam flag in half and use it on both sides of the Provisional flag. Then make half of the Provisional flag the North Vietnamese flag by making that half of the bottom red. That way North Vietnam would be included, and it will look more like a traditional military ribbon with the bars on the sides. Just a thought, and hope it wasn't confusing

I thought about doing that, but I decided that the yellow on the edges would make it look even more 'washed out'. Had a whack anyway.
