Hello All,
While sitting around the hospital I had a lot of time to think of some new campaigns. So I came up with this one.
A Marine Corp Campaign to include any and all Marine units from around the world and through history. Any and all Figures, Vehicles, Aircraft, Support Items, Artillary, Ships, ETC is allowed.
I am allowing the history to be wide open from the 14th century to present day.
So what do all of you think?

I got home last week and am taking it easy, But it is now time to " get back in the saddle"
Cheers,
Bruce

Yeah! Great idea, and it's so obvious! Count me in. No idea what yet. I have a 1/72 Corsair on the shelf ready to go, but I hope to shop around for something 1/35 armor-- maybe an M60 in Operation Desert Storm. If I could do figures, wouldn't some leathernecks firing down from the fighting tops of a sailing ship make a neat vignette?
Thanks,
-Sean.

Any Suggestions welcome.

I'd definitely would like that. I've got an HobbyBoss AAVP and would like to get some more stuff for the tuna boat. Autumn sounds good to me. I wouldn't want to wait a whole year to get started

If we do a winter 11/12 start I would be intersted. Upon first seeing this campaign I though about doing a BV206S or a BV10S Viking from the Korps Mariniers, but then I noticed that it would be either very expensive of completely scratchbuilt (very time-consuming for a master student) so it might be a Centaur from the RMASG or something else more readily available.

Still a good one though. We need a ribbon with an angled anchor and red and (dark) blue stripes. I ain't good with CMD so any of the regulars would have to fix it.

Real life has taken a chunk out of my modelling time, but if this doesn't start until next year, I'm in.

Just out of curiosity, is there a good Vietnam era LAV kit in any scale out there?

Do you mean LVT? I dont think there were LAV's in Vietnam. If you mean LVT AFV Club is pretty good.

I remember my grandfather looking at some LAV's one time when I was a kid and he was telling me about seeing some of them floating around in a flood while he was in Vietnam. I have no idea if this is true or not, and I really don't know much about their history. It may have been that he saw LVT's floating around and was confusing the two.

Hello All,
We have 14 interested in the campaign so far. I am going to post invites over at Aeroscale, AutoModeler, Historicus Forma and MSW to see if I can get other involved in the campaign.
This weekend I will post the suggested rules for the campaign and will ask for any suggestions on them.
Should we allow future Marine units in aka like the space marines in Alien? What do you think?
Or just have the time line of the 15th century to present day? Let me know.
Cheers,
Bruce

Maybe they were XM706 Armored cars.

They may well have been Gary. I certainly wasn't there, so I can't say one way or the other.
