Richard ,, Strange as it my seem but that sling is pretty close to the real thing being fully extended ,i have pics on my comp of many guns i use for painting guides and the few of the Thompson i have show one with its sling fully relaxed ,,looks pretty long in the pic but hell even if its a little bit out its all good ,,the customer loves it .
That M1 laying on the floor is there cause it was slipped out of the way dew to another person leaving the vehicle ,,you can't see him ,hes invisible
Sal Yeah i was talking about him with the customer and the best we can figure that he's pissed dew to standing nearly ankle deep in mud cause their pile of crap half track broke down ,,,,again!!! and the fact his buddy has a nice hot coffee and he ain't got any
In the end i did enjoy this model even tho it drove me nuts ,but the end result was worth the effort .

Erhan, Nicely done especially considering it's 1/72 scale.

Howdy everyone.
I finally got an evening free to do some work.. been a bit under the weather here. anyways. I attempted a dark brown pin wash, and my first attempt kinda turned into a filter. but it looked good after I got the wash right. then I used my airbrush to add some basic dust.
Later I'll touch it up with some pigments and final detailing. Still a ways to go.
The idea is a worn but well kept dusty behind the lines vehicle.
later

Boy you guys have been active during my little vacation¨
Corsair, welcome to the campaign, great work so far!
Matt, those metal barrels are definitely an improvement! Carry on, inspection approved...
Richard, nice to see the old tamiya, it’s been a while since my last one, but they sure are engineered for easy building.
Andy, great work! Really like how it came out. The changes you made make it hard to tell the difference to the DML kit (apart from the louvres and tracks...).
Delbert, your M3A1 came out great! Really like the antenna. Fitting a radio will be one of the tasks ahead of me as well... One thing I noticed, on the buisiness end of you M2 HB barrel there’s a bit of resin that doesn’t belong there. I assume it’s the Verlinden item because I used the same on one of my M24s and left that bit on too. I noticed later... Really like your weathering so far!
Phil, nice and dirty! Great work. Too bad all the PE is now covered in paint...
Irvin, welcome to the campaign! Will you be building OOB?
Erhan, nice work! Congrats on finishing!
So, my build has progressed slowly in half hour slots at a time but it’ll get me there eventually.
Overview:
Some detailing I made for the tools (Verlinden buckles):
The gun I used is from RB models and fits well. However, I had to widen the parts around it a bit with some plastic card.
Some detailing on the suspension, need to add the attachment of the muffler:
I will paint this as a Marine SPM on Saipan so will need to add some MG mounting points (which I will probably get from the M2 Halftrack which I won’t build as an A1) and also a radio and antenna. Anyone got anx idea on what and where the radio was mounted? Also, where can I find one?
Cheers everyone!
Stefan

howdy
Me again.
Here is a photo of my zvedza M3A1 Scout Car.
It is pretty much done. I could hang a bit of gear here and there and may do so later on, but I have another project or 2 I need to work on. I'll take some better photos when I have the time and upload them into the gallery.
thanks for a fun campaign

Hello everyone.
got outside after work today and took some photos of the M3A1 Scout Car. I always feel that the best photos are taken outside in the sun, and they show up the colors best.
I'll have a few more up on my site soon, but these pretty much show it as it is..
I know there is room for improvement, but I also feel I improved my own skills on this one.

Sorry if this is already here, but I didn't see it if it is...
But, does anyone have a good photo (of the model) of a M2A1 with the 50 cal mounted? I am trying to figure out how it should be attached.
Thanks.

Delbert, your M3A1 Scout car came out just super. Natural lighting is usually the preferred way to go unless you have a nice flood light setup.

Thanks Joel, I think outside light looks best also.
I have one of those Photo studios in a box for taking photos, but even using daylight lights I don't get photos as good as sunlight.
John
I have some B&W photos of a M2A1 showing the MG from all sides pretty much, including one thats a top down showing the MG cradle without the gun. if you think they will help let me know.

Delbert,
Yes, anything with it attached to the ring would be great!
Maybe it would help others too, but the Dragon directions are killing me on this.
Thanks,
John

Hey all,
Looks like I'm a little late to the party, but I'm in for an M16. I've got a Tamiya one, but I'm hoping to find a Dragon kit to do for this campaign.
