My one ride in a Sherman I helped restore at an air museum. That's me in the turret....

As for the weird.... well, I spend almost as much time reading spaceship modeling sites as I do armor, with a bit of gaming ever so often. Talk about weird tanks, those gamers have some wild ones.....

Which bug ? the building of strange and weird amrour bug dude lol .. i've done the Warhammer 40K thing,cause of the price i built pretty much all the armour i had in that game and i know what you mean about the games ..I keep finding pics of machines which guys have created and some of these are brilliant . there's a SPG which one guy did and i will be building a model of it . looks like he used a T72 hull with mod's of course .
Ok i'll admit i haven't done the Sherman thing like you did to that scale lol but i have done the Leo 1 and the King tiger thing when i was 20 .
The king tiger is at Saumur and the leo was a little gift from an uncle in Germany
Still love remembering that lol

Have to watch out for those uncles.... my Uncle Sam sent me on a senior trip out of high school that was, hmmmm, let's just say interesting.

Would trade you my Sherman experiences for your Leopard ones.

Have been reading the Scratch Building forum.... some nice stuff, and the What If campaign looks like a lot of fun. I have a couple ideas if they do another one...

Bob LOL nope those i am keeping ..the ride in the King tiger was rather boring to be honest .
Just a little trip from its park thru a show area and out the other side but the Leo .. ohhhh now that was pure fun . i am pretty sure my uncle told the crew to drive the nuts of this thing .. not sure if he was trying for the land speed record in a tank but he gave it a bloody good try lol , god mate it was brilliant .

Mauro ,,that first tank is a German T72 drivers Ed tank . from the old East Germany, they use those cause it has no gun and the driver can't bend it if he hits something and trust me ..they hit alot of things i am told
When i first saw the T64 fire fighter my first impression was "oh you gotta be kidding me!!" that thing is awsome .
The US will spend a heap designing a new chassis for a fire truck but the Russians go "nope we gonna stick it on a tank " lol ,,you gotta love thinking like that
I have seen those two APC's before but they are still very very cool , i really like that MT-T tho and i have got to build it, won't be to hard i reckon

I found next candidate for my build if the Panhard won't get released in time.

For those who don't like scratchbuilding, there are other strange, weird kits out there too, like a Kettenkraftrad or an M274 Mule.

Mauro .. oh you been at it again I know that the Russians will use anything to build what ever they want but still using tanks is a cheap, brilliant idea , they are strong,proven and will go bloody near anywhere.
I've seen a few ideas with the jet engine mounted up top , the one's that where tried out in the first DS looked like they worked but seems they weren't as good as they were made out to be, but hell if ya don't try then how do ya know huh ?

Steven .. ya man i would say the Onto's is a pretty strange little machine .
So yep it would go in here with all the other nut bar ideas .

Edson,, well the first to fall into this category very well ,,the third machine no ,,the KMT is an engineering vehicle and not my strange about it ,,its a tank hull with a truck cab (even tho it is made for this machine ) and a mine clearing blade .. those tho are seriously cool machines , that machine is good for the Support/ recovery campaign .
That first machine is very cool ..i want one
The last machine is an aircraft and this campaign is only for ground based vehicles .

MBR ,, ya i have seen that before ..just never seen it driven ,oh i love the sound of that engine , I know the German's do use ex military vehicles for fire duties which again is very cool , am i wrong in believing that they also use the Leo1 hull aswell ..for some reason i think i remember seeing one based on a Leo hull.

Oh i just had a thought too .. we gonna need a ribbon for this campaign ..anyone got any ideas ?

Tell ya Bob if i have a fire at home i want that !! , its pretty clear why countries choose to mount fire systems onto a tank hull .

Warren.... Please do find a photo. I would love to see the vehicle that has to carry that name around.

Phill...... I know a modeler that rents a "climate controlled storage facility" to store all his models. He says that he will just have to live long enough to build them all, and knowing him he will give it a darned good try.

You know, this campaign may be small but it is the most fun I have had in a long time.... and we haven't even started yet! And I keep finding other stuff to build that would fit this category, we need a campaign just for finding the vehicles.

How about a question mark on a colored field? or the shape of a weird vehicle on a colored field? or a SW on a ribbon? If you get the idea I can try making one if you can't....
