Jeff, My winter StuG IV also has a set of the old Dragon Winterketten individual track sets. It gives the vehicle a different look as well. I think the Dragon Winterketten Track Set is out of print. I bought mine back in the 90s.

After buying a few more detail items for the Sturmgeschütz Campaign (aluminum barrel & brake and resin late return wheels) last night, I started digging through my collection of kits and found a 1970 Monogram 1/32 Sturmgeschütz IV kit. You know, the ones that had the rusty/brown looking vinyl tracks and damaged Schurzen?
Hmmmm ... one more to the build fold? I also found that I have quite an affection (or infection) for the StuG for there were 5 other kits down there.
And Jagdpanzers too.

Hi Conor,
here´s a picture of your "test kit". I only have the one
and that´s in a book, haven´t seen it on the net. Hope
you like it.

I've got myself a practice kit before the campaign starts
I have that one too, the original DRAGON kit #9035.
Lots of StuGs and Jagdpanzers.

I've never built a Dragon Stug before. In fact I've only built a Panzer IV by Dragon. So this (relatively) simple kit should be a good tease before the campaign kicks in. That's if I can put up with magic tracks again...

I was going to work on some ribbon ideas for both Campaigns ( the Large Scale Build Campaign ) too,
but if someone wants to do it instead I would most certainly accept the offer.
Also, if you have any images or suggestions you think you would like to see, show us and we'll get 'em going on here. I have a few ideas but it's everyone's Campaign, not just mine!!

Jeff,
Not wanting to get in the way, but I was playing around and came up with this for a banner.

I'm all for that design
It's a good thing I got myself a practice kit, because I've got a bit to learn about painting and white wash. Other than that though, it's a nice little kit.

Phill Mate,
You have talked me into some campaigns, blamed Jeff for having to create the tank destroyers campaign & now do I hear the blowing of a trumpet??
I would be thinking that in order to Truely appreciate Bobs great work on the ribbon & lead the way on the strange & werid campaign, one which I may add you have got my limited buliding speed involved in now, that surely that limo version of the RSO has to be packed with guys!
And in that vein I am sure I could find 4 or 5 to help swell the numbers to save you needing to by more LOL
Plus I am sure their used to be an advert on back home that said said if anyone can a kiwi can lol....got'a love expats don't yeah lol

Hey Mikey .. well as for your last line ,,if anyone can a kiwi can.. well this kiwi don't want too
Dew to past issues with rather nasty body damage my left hand is having nerve issues ,,so in other words its getting rather annoying to use ..typing is ok but holding anything small and delicate is not going to happen for a little while .
Thats the main reason for no men on the RSO bus ,i simply
can't build any ,,hell trying to roll a smoke is a nightmare ..thank god for taylor made

That's okay Mike, I get blamed for a lot of things.
Funny though, it always seems to turn out that is was a good idea after all.
So let that be a lesson to all you modelers out there. It's ALWAYS better to be lucky, than good.
So, the countdown is 38 days before we launch operation Sturmgeschütz Brigade Build. And I am pumped! Not only will it be my birthday (please, no presents guys) but it will be the first of many I hope to host here in the Campaign section.
Of course, ALL of the Campaigns I am signed up for I'm excited about, it's just that the StuG is my baby and I do have a few of 1/16 StuGs I need to build. One will be the HL StuG III Ausf. G I will convert to a mid to late version. The second one is a conversion kit to convert a HL Panzer III to the StuG III Ausf. F, complete with winterketen tracks.
THEN, the third one is the StuG IV. Actually it's ANOTHER conversion kit from AsiaTam and it uses the HL Panzer IV. This one I have been told is a warped puppy, so my work is cut out for me.
That should about do it for 1/16 StuGs. Now, just getting off the ____ and get 'em done.
Oh yeah, I do have a 1/15 Bandai StuG IV that I bought LOOONG before HL came around.

Jeff,
I don't have a lot of problems making the banners.... it is the ribbons that get to me. So I tend to make them VERY simple... Let me know what you think of the following for the STUG campaign...
I figured as they tended to be an ambush hunter that just the barrel sticking out from the letters would give the idea.

Bob,
Ribbon looks good but can I suggest to use a small "t" and a Small "u" like StuG
just my $.02 for what its worth

Bob, the ribbon looks great BUT, this is more what the group wants than anything else because it does go on their profile.
I think Sal is on to something, maybe use the different sized lettering, and or maybe add some camo colors to it? I'm just talkin' out loud ... it's not up to me, whatever the rest of the gang wants. Everyone should chime in if they like it as is or make the suggested change?
I do thank you for stepping up and helping out. You're the man!

Hey Martin!
Not that I am the know-it-all in the StuG department, but please feel free to ask any questions you might have. There are many members here that can help you out with your first Sturmgeschütz build.
So what, there's 37 more days 'till Sturmgeschütz Blitzkrieg!!
