Nice choice there Pat!

Can you believe I haven't picked out my main build yet? I'll probably dust off the Italeri Marines Sherman since it was a no go for the D-Day Campaign.

I had a blast in the last Sherman Campaign...

...I'm sure this will generate the same feeling.

Alright!! Two days until kickoff! I got a Tasca Sherman II on it's way from Sprue Bros. Merry Christmas to me.

Happy New Year one and all.

Chris

Didn't know that Sprue Brothers carried Tasca models. When did that happen?
Joel

Dunno. They don't have a giant selection though. I think they had 5 to choose from.

That's 5 more then I've ever seen on their site. They're my number 1 online HS, so it's nice to know I can get one there every so often. Just took a quick look at the armor section, and Tasca isn't listed. So I did a site search and sure enough 5 Tasca kits show up. If they're trying to keep it a secret, they're doing a great job of it.

Starter picture. It's the 1/35 Academy M4a3e8 Sherman with dozer blade and the 105mm Howitzer. For the campaign I'll build it mostly out of the box with a few tweaks. At this point I am planning to build it as a post WW2 vehice being used to help with reconstruction by occupying US forces. It'll probably ind is way into a project I've got mulling around in my head. It may be a bit before I get to start on it though.

Here’s the project I’m planning to build for this campaign. I’m still debating whether or to build this as a Canadian or Czech variant. The BEF figures I plan to modify a little to match late war cold weather clothing.

I had to add eec's to my ds tracks for this build. Got the eed's from an old set on link tracks, trimmed them off, trimmed the ds track ends and just glued them on.

Mike, nice idea. Are those duckbills from a resin or metal track set or are they from Tamiya's vinyl tracks from their M4A3?

It says Sherman on the box. Is the M50 ok for this campaign? If so this is my start photo.

Welcome aboard!

Instead of having two the right length they added an extra one that you have to cut and add to get the right length!! Why not just mould them at the right length?

I just cannot believe they did that but, oh well.

This kit came out years before the DS tracks were produced. It would make no sense to have a mold just for one kit. It's easier, and cheaper, to include three lengths of track.

I've built this one and it is a charmer. Those tracks are not an issue.

John, I'd suggest cutting the tracks in the middle, not close to the preexisting connection points. Would be a lot more difficult to have two 'weak' spots close together than farther down the track.

I'm going to build Tamiya's M51. Always liked that huge gun. I can see that I will have to look into getting some new tracks as I'm not happy with the kit ones.

Ok, here's my "ready, set, go!" pic from Jan 1. I have the Voyager P/E set on the way. Looking forward to being a part of this campaign!

This is the first campaign I have enlisted in.
I'm going to build the Tasca Sherman Vc Firefly w/cast cheek armour turret. I am also going to use some Ultracast resin accessories and decals, a aber .30 Cal gun berral and Lionmark British antenna w/base for the Mk. 19 radio. The only photo etch I'll use is the set that comes with the kit.

Would love to show all of this. But, I'm having a hard time trying to upload my photos (help please).

I haven't decided if I will replace the 17 lb gum barrel or tracks yet. I'll cross that bridge, when i build it.

comments and suggestions will always be welcomed.

Have a good one,

Roy

Just read my post!
I wonder what a 17 Lb gum barrel taste like?

It should read 17 Lb gun barrel.

Having problems getting a photo loaded for my Sherman. I think I will do a 1/35 Tamiya IDF M51. I love the big gun. I don't like the kit tracks so I have to decide weather to use AFV T80 tracks or Tasca T80 tracks. I also have Voyager Models upgrade kits along with Legend Detail sets. I also haven't decided on weather to do the 1973 update set or just the other detail set.

Hi all, this post has been active!. Great builds Mike by the way - I like the way your Jumbo looks in winter camo so it's under consideration for my build I won't be starting for a little while as I have a couple of other campaigns to finish first. This is a big ol' hunk of resin Jumbo conversion that I'll use on the HB kit. The EEC's are going to be tedious, which is that p.e. sheet. I think I'll do a 75mm version.

Nice choice there Greg!

I think I'll build a 1/16 RC JUMBO instead of the A1 I had lined up as I like the M4A3E2 much better.

And those that are having trouble uploading and posting pictures, my best advice is to get a Photobucket http://beta.photobucket.com/ account (it's free) and pretty much way so easy to use.

Those that still need help with this way of posting pictures, PM me and I will walk you through it.

Terry, the Tasca M32B1 kit is a great choice and a great kit. I'm currently building it as I couldn't wait till the campaign started to get into it. You're going to really enjoy the build.

I figure I have another 3 weeks or so to finish it up before I can start my M4 Composite build.
