Well I can say that the M42 duster is worth your pennies for sure, I know their has been some arguments about the wheel hubs & if people want to fix need to get the M41 Walker Bulldog wheels & tracks also frivolous AFV.

I'm about ready for an all resin kit after all the dust settles and Campaigns have been finished.
Accurate Armor has a few I have longing to do but that's a discussion for another thread!

Oh the ol Sgt York .. a classic model man and a very nice choice ,sounds like the old Tamiya kit ya talking about and if it is change those barrels buddy .. i built one a for customer couple of years ago and replaced the barrels with RB Models ones ..oh dude they looked brilliant .

It's not uncommon to see resin truck models in the area of $200 NZ and thats not even a big truck ,,anything tank based fulls into the department of "OUCH" .
This type of campaign i for one could not afford to join .

I have a couple of kits that I can do for this & maybe getting a third all defintitely fit the criteria, but I have also been kicking around an idea that to me just smacks of plain logic, just never seen a photo of it. We all know the Germans mounted all sorts of AA guns on captured British trucks in the desert, now my understanding & following question is as far as I know the Bedford ql gun portee was to small for a german pak 40, so my thoughts had always been why wouldn't they mount a flak 36 3.7 on one?? Using a flak 30 or 38 would have been a waste of such a strong truck. Hence my thoughts on the 3.7 as they had more issue with the desert airforce than tanks.

Mike: thanks for the scoop on the Duster. I'll likely keep it OOTB but it's good to know the fix on the wheels. The only mod I might do is to research the national guard unit in my hometown (can't remember) that had these. When I was 11 or 12 they had an open house and I got to drive one for a short bit.

We're all friends here.I have no problem with what you're enquiring about, as long as the two pieces are in or from the same year(s) of conflict. Mogadishu or WWII. That's the beauty of trucks with flaks mounted on them. I am mainly concerned on AFVs, just don't want anything made up but those guns were mounted on just about everything ... even Schwimmwagens and trains too.

Hey ya me laddos .. not much happening here with me ..been working on cars for the last 4 days and its times like this i wish i didnt know as much about fixing the damn things as i do ,anywhys i been reading about your flak idea Mick and i am pretty sure there's gonna be a wee problem .
I am pretty certain that the Falk 36 never saw service in North Africa ..the 20mm was there for sure and the 88 but i can't ever remember seeing the 37mm there and even after hunting the net and reading some books nothing turned at all mentioning the 37mm in North Africa .
But i aint gonna give up looking yet

Does it have to be a real vehicle? Can it be a developmental vehicle like a Sgt York or even scratchbuild something completely fictitious?
