While searching the Internet for walkthroughs I came across several Marder Tank builds and even a few Group Builds as well.

So, in the mist of a 38t Campaign... a Tank Destroyer/SP Gun Campaign... and a StuG Campaign... is there room for a Marder Campaign?

I would include the Lorraine, Hotchkiss and of course Marders built on Panzer I and II chassis. Can be TD designated or just a howitzer support vehicle.

Bronco made a lot of these and so did Tamiya... heck I think I have a few of the earlier Marders on a chassis that isn't a 38t. Of course, this must be WWII vehicles only please!!

If enough are interested of course this will have to carry into next year as I'm sure Gary will say.

Here are a few examples:

So, watch ya think?

Counter me in
My 1st armor was a Marder II from Tamiya from exactly 20 years ago when I was merely 6 and my grandpa built it for me instead =)

20 years later I would like to build a Marder II again as a tribute to him

I am on! It could be a cool campaign and I think there would still be room for it in the schedule if it starts mid 2013.

I like that Wespe as one I am thinking of for me, even though I have a Tamiya Marder II sitting.

Lion Roar makes a PE set I brought up earlier I want to get and make the whole build basically one of PE and then NOT paint it but then place the markings on it.

Sound mental or what?

We'll get the whole gang here and we'll have our numbers for Gary. Thanks for showing interest guys! I appreciate it.

Sal, I think the Wespe isn't a Marder type.

Jeff, depending on the start/finish dates... I'm in.

Hi Jeff,
does this only cover the WWII era, or are modern Marders
allowed

Cheers Paul

@ Paul ~ Yeah I kinda mentioned only WWII era, please.

@ Sal ~ I'll include the Wespe, Lorraines and vehicles built by Hotchkiss as Marder entrants because there are only a few designated and badged as Marders. I'll call this the Phill Rule.

@ John ~ Name your starting date? You're involved in more than I am so let us know what'll work?!!

Jeff, this sounds to be interesting. I have a marder iiim just laying around collecting dust. I do however have a part missing out of the kit that is kind of important that I will have to try to scratch build. But I will be on board for the campaign.

Oh by the way what about the panzerjager series, or do you want to go just strictly for those within the marder family?

Hi,

I am already doing a UM Marder III M for the D-Day Campaign, but being a lover of the breed I have the H and will be getting the II and Early III with the Russian gun. So if this is starting next year you can count me in.

All the best,

Paul

Hey buddy, one question, I started building the marder when I was in iraq and buy starting I mean just the engine......is this okay for this campaign? It's the only thing built in the kit.

Yep. Our troops always get a break! Especially from me so yes Chris, go ahead and use it!

And a UM Marder III M Paul? Sounds good. So that makes what, 7?

Correct me if I'm wrong on the count. Adding isn't a strong suit of mine right now.

Probably gonna hit the hay early tonight so I'll check first thing in the AM for any additional members showing interest.

Sound good?

Looks as though we have 10 interested so it has been submitted! Thanks to Luca and everyone else on getting this worked out!

Also, thanks to whomever corrected the spelling on the word "Maddness" in the title but I purposely did that. Thought it gave some credence to the intent of this Campaign.

I'll be "absent" for a while so behave everyone.

I'm in... damn you Jeff. I think I have a II H, or something I can dig up. I may use the III M for this as I picked up the Pz I from Tristar for the 38(t) campaign. Or I'll go buy something else...after I sell off the crap-ton of aircraft kits I have NO interest in building.

Well GREAT, Paul and Matt. Welcome!

My little thing has been cancelled so we'll see what's next for my scheduled absence.

In the meantime I too must sell a few things (clear out the room) and look for a Marder III Ausf.M, (I think is what I want/need) and PE the crap out of it! Friuls too.

There won't be too much that will be plastic on this one! Oh yeah... muzzle brake and gun barrel too.

OR

Thanks guys! We'll wait for Gary K. now.

Hi Mike!

I just set it for January to December of 2013. Kinda like the Panther Campaign... long enough to get it done and start it anytime you guys are ready. I never heard back from John so I just winged it.

I doubt this will upset anyone and should work into everyones plans. Marders are small enough to build rather quickly (except mine) and should be all fun and no worries. Aye?

Jeff,

Sounds like a great plan as slow poke beginners like me are having fun juggling the stug, phills td campaign & not even started the other couple enlisted for but only way to learn & get better.... Hopefully lol

I'm no race horse either like some of these guys so I'm right there along with you, enjoying the ride.

Err, I mean the build.
