Very thorough job. Someone has to love the look this kit has with plastic, PE, resin and other stuff on it. Looks great!

even if the lazy solution would be to only represent the hinges welded to the fenders and get rid of the skirts.
.. probably not the worst solution

Really nice work, I can't wait to see it completed.
I have one in the works as well, it will be in Ivorian markings

I'm really glad you all like it.
I hope the new Legend set is better than those I used in this build.
I know Miniarm have also one in their range but it is a Russian T-55AM so the LRF is different as well as other details. The advantage is you can use the Tamiya engine deck straight from the box.
Chris, do you have a picture of an Ivorian tank to share?

Hello,
here are the latest results on the side skirts. In fact, I removed the rubber parts of the skirts, I had to thin the brackets and make new hinges and reinforcement ribs on some elements. I'll put the rubber parts after the painting of the running gear.
Now here is how the left side looks.
Definitely too short and not aligned with the exhaust.
I must check my references to see what I can do to fix that. I hope I won't have to scratch all the brackets.

I suspect that's the only solution. What a pity!
Anyway, I'm sure that eventually You'll be able to do a great job

Thanks for the kind comment Mauro and Walter.
This afternoon I decided to tackle what I think are snow grousers.
Here is a picture of the real ones (from military vehicles.cz)
Here is a picture of the CMK part. In the RM conversion it is not provided.
Here is what I got after some work. This is not perfect but at least the new part has correct dimensions.

Oliver,
what a beautiful craftsmanship...your attention to details was excellent... I've been following this thread since day 1...
By doing this, slowly it get my morale back to start my conversion of T-72 to PT-91M. The idea came 5 years ago...
and your PT-91 is also excellent..good luck for the rest of the build...

Thanks for your appreciation guys.
Silantra, you should resume your PT-91 project it is a really nice variant. Maybe you could find a ModelKrak conversion to use as a base. I guess you wnt build a Malaysian PT-91M so you will have some more work as the Modelkrak kit was a kind of early Polish model or even a prototype.
Good luck and please share your build

Oliver,
yup i'm building the malaysian PT-91M. The base kit is revell and along the way i've collected some AM stuff. Original plan was to scratbuild the turret (some fellow local modeller did that) but still required lots of work. Only a days ago i learn about the Modelkrek conversion but not available. But i managed to order the A.E.F Design turret 2 days ago from hobbyeasy as well as miniarms 12-tooth sprocket. This is maybe a 'mega' project for me. Will only start next year when i collected eough materials. When our army bought the tank, there were not much reference we could get (our army has the tendency to keep in secret). Even climbing up the hull to take photos of the turret is not allowed. This little reference made me stop the project 5 years ago.
But now lets hope God is with me ... and judging by my build speed, i anticipated this build will take not less than 3-4 months (if all goes smooth)... thanks for the word of encouragement ... sorry to hijack your thread....
keep us update

Zaidi,I'll follow your build with pleasure
Here are the first pics of the turret and the hull put together.
I can say the build is complete at 90%. The remaining 10% are the Miniarm tracks. This won't be a piece of cake. The pins are so tiny that it's hard to click the links without breaking them.

Dear Olivier
Those items you describe as snow grousers are I believe devices to secure the tank to a railway flat car.
Best Wishes

Thanks Gary.
I'm struggling to build the Miniarm tracks. Whereas I should have a nice line, I have a bow on my workbench, not to speak of the number of broken links
By the way, does anybody have a good reference for the Czech green in the Tamiya range?

Hi guys,
Here are better pics with a more neutral background. The first one shows one track after completion. Not really a straight one
I'll spray a layer of green then as soon as I find a correct match for the Czech green, I'll give it its final color.

Nice progress, Olivier.
The track is extremely curved - does it affect the mounting in any way? Never had this before.
I don´t know the right green colour for this vehicle, but I would use Tamiya Nato Green and add Sand/Deck Tan to light up.
Cheers
Walter
