You said any era right? How about this rapid reconnaissance vehicle that was the go-to for virtually every nationright through to the early 20th century and is still in use in some backwater places today?

I'm talking of course about...

the horse.

I've got this to contribute (as a slight change of pace) if someone wants to allow it. It is 1/12 scale so it fits that requirement also.

Rules:
Any vehicle that has been used in a reconnaissance role
Any dio featuring troops in a reconnaissance setting/role.

Not a vehicle so I'll allow it only if it shown in a reconnaiscance role-with a rider, ie; Indian Scout, Cossack etc.

Here's what I'll be building -the Skp Humber Scout car
I hope I can restrain myself to a straight OOB build

Made some real progress so far. The kit is fairly easy with low parts count but the instructions still have some issues, but what fun would it to be if the instructions would be complete?

Had to fill in some holes with stretched sprue.

But I was still able to make some great progress.

I'll be painting before long at this rate.

Pat,

That is alright, you all have fun with the build. It is planned as a gift for my girlfriend's mom for shelf display so I'm doing it straight out of the box as a buckskin. Can't be too complicated or fragile since there is a good chance it will be handled by young kids during future family events.

That's too bad I liked the idea of a 1HP scout very much!

Had a break from the truck for a couple of days as I got the Black Dog stowage through. Superb is an understatement! It's taken me about 12hrs to paint it as you don't actually see the layers of kit until you get paint on top of the undercoat. Nicely done tropal coat on the top which I initially thought was a cam net in a bag . The moulding and detail is bang on. Had some Resicast Vickers and Lewis Guns through from Historex this am. Not cheap but worth it. I compared the Resicast Lewis' to the Tamiya one. I'd say the Tamiya one is about 6" too short and looks like a kids gun! Wise move going with Resicast methinks. A few bits to touch up on the stowage and some bits out of my stash then it can go in the back. Doing some more on the truck tonight.

Well I’ve started working on the T7 and so far this kit goes together pretty quickly. There was a lot of clean up on the chassis and I used a few parts from HB M3 since the parts in the kit were poorly cast. I’ve also started working on the body and have scratch built new replacement armor as the ones in the kit were over scaled and again poorly cast.

Pat, nice subject. I didn't know SKP had a Humber. Is it good?
Kevin, nice start there.
Karl, i see your crew travelled light..... . I think someone forgot to take the sink though... . Nice paintjob there.
Christopher, it's the first time i see one of these getting built. Waiting to see more.
Steph, good start. That should like nice after painting. Nice details.
Javier, that's a rare and very interesting subject!

Assembly of the BA 64 is finished. I made some tools, a jack, supports for the spare wheel and lights etc. It is the first time i ever attempted doing such things. I think it will look a little better than built OOB. (Hopefully..... ). It is ready to get primered and painted.

Hi All!

I normally subscribe to a thread when I enlist, but for some reason did not for this one.

I am not sure what I will build yet, but hope to start something soon and join in all the great progress everyone is making.

Cheers Rob.

Pat: looking forward to seeing that humber built, it will help me make my mind up to buy one or not

Kevin: nice choice, like those 250´s

Karl: beautiful bit of painting there

Christopher: looking good once again

Javier: now that a nice little kit, I hope you can see the PE I know I wouldn´t

John: speeding ahead again aren´t you and it looks good too

Richard: I will get one of those greyhounds one day

Well here´s my choice, the AFV Scimitar with castoff LEP conversion. I started last night and here´s where I got to:

I´ll get some done later, after I have been outside to worship the yellow thing in the sky

Paul, I tried to hire the Hubble telescope, to no avail...
Really, I'm now struggling to minimize the gaps on the hull...

More about that later.

Hi there,
well I wish that all kits and conversions would go together this fast and easy .
Thanks to Terry from Castoff, this conversion is the best I´ve done so far:

I´m glad there´s another Bankholiday here tomorrow in Germany, I´ll get the primer on and then wait 2 days for it to dry and then camo.

Thanks, Pat. It's not easy to find good pics. Except some "Old grunts" (And our Marine Corps is the World's older, Go figure!)there's not much info down here...

I've made some progress and have to make some improvements on what has been done so far, assemble the tracks and make a guy or two before the painting can begin.

Have a good one and keep up the good progress. Things are moving quickly and I wouldn't be surprised to see a finish model pop up in the forum before the end of the week.

Hi everyone, some great builds and I can't wait to get started!
Just been looking at my stash - would a B1 Centauro count as a recce vehicle? If not, no problem, I just feel like building it at last.
Cheers

Hi Jon according to wikipedia: The Centauro is a wheeled tank destroyer designed for light to medium territorial defense and tactical reconnaissance.
so you're good to go
